Should you be elected, what are three specific areas you’d like to change, address, improve or further research, and how
specifically would you go about it? _Three areas I would like to change, address, or improve are 1. Communication – Since
nearly 70% of our District does not have children in school, I think it is imperative that the Board make it a priority to keep
the people of the District – all of the people of the District – informed as to what is happening in the District – through
monthly newsletters, appearances at local organizational meetings, and visiting and including our senior citizens groups.
Also, better TV and internet coverage would help make it easier for people to stay informed. I would also like to see us
have an “Ask the Superintendent” or “Ask a Board Member” section in our newsletter. 2. I would like to do a line by line
analysis of the District budget to see if there are areas where we could save money and also re-instate the rainy day fund.
3. I don’t think school funding will improve if we as a District do not make our voices heard at the state level. I think it is
important that we network with our elected officials to try and get more money returned to our district. In the meantime,
I think we need to be more creative about getting additional dollars in our District through grants and through partnering
with our business community. I also feel we could take advantage of some partnering opportunities with other local
schools and colleges. _______________________________________________________________

Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you? _After choosing not to run two years ago, I
continued to take an interest in my school district and felt I could no longer sit on the sidelines and watch the direction the
district was headed. I believe I bring a perspective of the people that no longer have children in the district and those that try
hard every day to make ends meet. I also believe that I am very accessible and approachable and that people can bring their
concerns to me and know that their confidentiality will be protected as I have held positions of public trust all of my life. I also
believe that I am a strong advocate for the children of our district as well as our community. The parents, children, and
members of this community will get a person who has dedicated 16 years to serving them and who would like the opportunity
to return to the District to help make our District one of which we can be proud once again.___________________________
