In its 2nd year of operations (Oct. 2010 through Sept.

2011) the City of Bridgeport’s QAlert Citizen Service System has received and processed 33,542 service requests. This reflects an increase of 7,649 requests or 29.5% over our first year of operations. QAlert service requests during the last year have included a wide variety of concerns. These ranged from tax issues to copies of birth certificates, and even to requests for green items such as rain barrels and Recyclebank blue carts. Citizens reported over 1,500 potholes and sinkholes, almost all of which have been repaired by the Roadway Maintenance Division. The QAlert system proved especially useful during the severe weather Bridgeport experienced (Hurricane Irene and winter storms) by allowing citizens to keep Public Facilities aware of locations where trees had fallen, snow removal was necessary, or flooding had occurred. Each individual request is entered into the QAlert network either by city employees or online, and resolved in a professional and timely manner. The CitiStat Department actively monitors QAlert service compliance.

Bridgeport Resident Special Recognition The following is a list of concerned private Bridgeport residents who during QAlert’s second year of operations worked towards our goal of making Bridgeport the cleanest, greenest, safest and most efficient City in the United States.
