Last year children and adults wrapped and packed around 1.12 million shoe boxes full of gifts and goodies, which were then sent to disadvantaged children across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. I would like to encourage members of the church to take part and pack a shoe box for a disadvantaged child. For your diary: As a result of how well this was received last year, on Sunday 20th November at 7.30 pm, replacing the Cathedral's evening worship, the YPC are once more presenting ‘Messiah’, Handel’s choral masterpiece which centres around the first and second comings of Christ. Attending Messiah, annually, usually in the approach to Advent and Christmas, was once a great tradition in this part of the world, that may no longer be generally so, but it can be a moving and blessed experience, so if you haven’t done so for some time, or ever, why not take the opportunity.
