Motion: Senator Cross move to approve items b-e, Club Recognition: Flagstaff Derby Fury, Club Recognition: NAU Club Fastpitch Softball, Club Recognition: Young Americans for Liberty Second: Senator Niemann Discussion: None Vote: Unanimous, congratulations Flagstaff Derby Fury, NAU Club Fastpitch Softball, and Young Americans for Liberty you are now clubs on campus Motion: Senator Walton move to vote on items f and g, OA: AAF NAU Advertising Club and Senate Bill 24-15: Advertising Club for $1,825 Second: Senator Niemann Discussion: None Vote: Unanimous, congratulations AAF NAU Advertising Club and Advertising Club you have received your funding for $500 and $1,825 Chairperson Sidney West has now given President Haeger the chair to speak President Haeger discussed the following concerns: Tuition next year, the pledge program and if it will be able to be offered to incoming students next year, tuition increase to take place next yearwhat students and others are doing to ensure the lowest possible increase o Senator Alcorn, Lee and, Bingham all express how the pledge program makes NAU special and something that students and their families can count on Student success initiative, the retention rate from freshman to senior year not being very high, know some of the causes of this but want to know why students think this is an issue, we hear of freshman withdrawling from courses and getting D’s and F’s o Senators Bingham and Alcorn both state their thoughts on the importance of having other activties going on than just academics, holds students more responsible, and also how students take freshman year for granted and then fall behind and can not get their grades back up

-High level of technology in classrooms, how much of your classes ar just lecture, classes that are using Smart phones, bb learn and it’s success, different students learn different ways how can faculilty ensure the success of students -Senators Lee, Buchta, Cross, Bingham and Libby states that they feel that they are paying for technology that is not being used on campus,

they feel that students just listen to lecture and read textbooks, some students want just lecture because that is what they came to the university for, students are under stress because some or their grades are bases just on a few tests or essays, College of Business uses all of their technology to the higest degree and makes students feel that they can exceed, HRM has lots of new technology but students are unsure of how to use it, talking about hybrid classes where 50% is online and the other half is hands on- great way to save everyone’s time -Money allocations regarding constuction and other projects on campus, we are carrying through projects that were authorized years ago, we have finished most projects, there is spending in indiviul departments on campus, compares out funding to UofA and ASU’s, state not being interested in funding public education, the money cuts we have suffered in the past couple years -Senator Lee states his concern about families hurting to pay for their child’s tuition- what are we doing to help them out -Senator Alcorn states how he does not want NAU to loose its id of being a small school -Senator Walton discusses the 20/20 plan and what is is funding Motion: Senator Bingham move to vote on item h, Senate Bill 24-16:ASNAU Budget Line 140 for the purchase of stadium horns for the Homecoming football game Second: Senator Villa Discussion: None Vote: Unanimous, congratulations Sammy Smart you have received your funding of $750 Motion: Senator Niemann move to vote on item I, OA: Criminal Justice Club, $100 Second: Senator Lee Discussion: We plant to have posters an flyers advertising the speaker, that way los of students know about the speaker Vote: Uannimous, congratulations Criminal Justice Club you have received your funding for $100 Motion: Senator Libby move to untable item a, Club Recognition: Alpha Phi Omega National Co-Ed/ Alpha Delta Rho Chapter is now tabled

Executive report a. President- Blaise Caudill -Last week had meeting on sustainability, I am going to chair this committee for now, next meeting is on 10/27 right after Senate we will meet in here or in the ASNAU office

-Another meeting about policy revision, we looked at documents regarding putting documents online, I will give you all copies before anything happens -Held a student reagents information sessions but no one came, so PLEASE let all of your friends know about the position so we can get it filled b. Vice President of Student affairs- Sammy Smart -I will order the horns tomorrow -homecoming tailgate, Theta Chi has volunteered but I am still need some of you to help out so be ready for that, we have 20-30 groups signed up right now -mailboxes will be finalized by Wednesday -We finally got money all the money form central ticketing figured out from the UofA game and put it back in to the Away Games line Looking at an away basketball game c. Vice President of Academic Affairs- Sidney West - Hours are due today so please turn yours in -hang up posters -no senate meeting next week because of carnival -Make sure you are working on your forums d. Chief of Staff- Chloe Olson -hang up your posters, Julia works really hard on those -Sign up to work the carnival -Concessions at the carnival can be purchased with JDE or Dinning Dollars Staff Reports A.
