Remedy Music Group 2010
For many established and developing artists in the current music business climate, especially those who have experienced both the highs and lows of being signed to a record label, the alternative of releasing music through their own label (via physical and digital distribution and road sales) and thereby developing their own business now makes the most economic and artistic sense. Remedy Muzik was conceived as a company to help artists do just this. Simply put, Remedy Muzik is a new age business model for artist development and production in the new ‘Music Industry 2.0’. The company has been founded by Miguel as a Saskatchewan based proprietorship. The business operates to produce, promote, and manage several local area based artists. The company generates income by forming a partnership with the artist and creating a profit sharing arrangement in which various streams of income are collected and divided according to the terms of artist agreement. Remedy Muzik is not a record company nor is it a management company (though we do manage a couple of artists). It is a company whose purpose is to form partnerships with mostly up and coming artists to assist in their development and eventual success, all while the artist remains independent. The Company provides fair compensation to its partners, a fair return to its owners, and a fair royalty to its artists.
Remedy Muzik is a music production company with a music recording studio in Regina, SK offering demo music production, songwriter demos, mixtape songs, and final radio ready masters. Our music production business works with record labels, music publishing companies, independent artists, and musicians. We produce a variety of musical styles, such as Pop music, R&B, Dance, and Hip-Hop. We have Billboard charting experience (Two Canadian Top 20 Hits). Executive producer, Tha Remedy has provided production for major artists such as, Addictiv, Kardinal Offishal, Pitbull, and Lil B.

Getting into the Details.
This Plan will detail how the artist will be promoted and the steps that will be taken in order to see a successful campaign and generate revenue. The plan will also outline the responsibilities of the artist and Remedy Muzik (RMZK)
A Few Things to Know in Advance
Before we jump right into the plan there are a few facts that should be known so there is a full understanding of the context in which the steps and goals are stated. Knowledge of these facts in advance will help to avoid any possible misunderstandings. These facts have been gathered from various sources and data which have been carefully taken into account. Here is the breakdown. *sources have been listed at the end of the plan.*
1. Revenue Streams Have Changed
Massive changes in the creation and distribution of music over the past ten years have drastically changed the landscape for musicians. New technologies like digital music stores, streaming services and webcasting stations have greatly reduced the cost barriers to the distribution and sale of music. While at the same time, rampant piracy has drastically changed the main income streams profits, namely physical sales. Physical sales used to be 65% of the total revenue that came in for the artist. Now that percentage has been reduced to 20%. RMZK recognizes that while that while physical sales have taken a hit and digital sales hardly make up for the losses, there are still various and new revenue streams that can be tapped into. See chart below. For a regional music group such as RMZK, a sharing scheme from all revenue sources is a viable business model because making a profit only on album sales can be extremely difficult. There is also the thought that since RMZK is spending the money and committing the man hours to making the artist a success, it should
