He has been with the Ministry of the Word since 1987 and has conducted more than 350 parish missions and presented many retreats for priests and sisters.. Fr. John speaks Spanish as well as Italian and has been trained in alcoholism and addictions counseling. Some of his interests are bicycle riding, movies and an avid following of all of the Boston sports teams. Fr. Martin Bednar, OFM was born on December 11, 1936 in Barnesboro, PA. His family moved to Miami in July, 1950. He graduated from High School in 1954 and then entered the Franciscan seminary. Help us acknowledge the wonderful loving service our priests provide for us as they work in Gods service. Sunday, October 30th is World Priest Day. What might you do to ensure your priest knows your appreciation for all he does for you and his parish? A simple thank you note from you and/or a hand made card from your children via the mail or through your collection basket would certainly brighten his day. Sharing the gift of your time with him is even better or some chocolate!! His decision, to follow Gods call as a Spouse to His Church, provides us with a path to greater joy on earth and eventual salvation in heaven. Whens the last time you told him you love him? Dont allow October 30th to pass by without your priest knowing you appreciate the good he provides to you.

During the offertory we will have 2 collections. The 1st is for your regular stewardship contribution for St. Andrew. The Ushers will then pass the basket a second time for Mission Sunday. After Communion we will have a collection for Msgr. Simons St. Joseph Catholic High School in Ghana. Envelopes are in the pews.

The American Heritage Girls will be having the annual Greenery Sale. Please stop by the table in the narthex and order your wreaths.
