Purpose: To identify unknown bacteria from culture #2 via microbiological growth based methods. Materials: Bunsen Burner Loop Slides Label (tape) Label Markers/Pens Unknown Bacteria culture #2 Incubator (37C) Nutrient agar plate Gram Staining Kit K streak Plate Microscope Oil Water Bottle Catalase reagent Urease Medium Mannitol Medium Oxidase Agent

Methods: Conducted Standard growth based techniques as described in the lab manual and Incubated all tests/ K streak Plates at 37C: 1. 2. 3. 4. Inoculated Unknown Bacteria onto a Nutrient Agar plate ( K-Streak Plate) Conducted a Gram Stain Reaction. Performed Catalase Tests, a Urease test, Mannitol tests, and an Oxidase Test. Recorded observations.
