New Journey Group Continues Today – The “Life Liners” is a Journey Group intended for any-
one who wishes to increase their spiritual growth through Prayer, Scripture Reading and Fellowship
(sharing thoughts on topics of concern and the scripture reading with others). It meets every
Sunday in the large classroom following the 10:45am service. Questions? See Leon Wheeler.

Hispanic Worship Today – SoJ’s Hispanic Ministry will continue sharing their worship service at 1
p.m. today. If you’d like to lend a hand in some way, please see Pastor William today!

Children’s Musical TODAY! – SoJ’s Children’s Choir has been preparing the mini-musical The
Tale of Three Trees based on the popular children’s story. Come and support these gifted children
today at 3 p.m. in the Worship Center. Special thanks to Joy Shively for directing.

Quilting Team Meets Monday – SoJ’s quilters will meet Monday at 9:30am in the large

Women’s Bible Study Monday – A group of women meet for Bible study and fellowship 7pm

Adult Learning Buffet 7 p.m. Wednesday – Pastor Jeff is leading a study on Erwin McManus’s
book on the life of Jonathan called Chasing Daylight to discover greater meaning, purpose, and joy
in life. Pastor William is leading a study called Spirituality 101 looking at the spiritual disciplines
that lead to a closer relationship with God. It’s never too late to get involved!

Burundi Prayer Send-Off And Nightly Prayer Gatherings Planned – SoJ’s Prayer Vision Team
is planning a Prayer Send-Off for our Burundi missionaries just prior to their trip to the airport,
Wednesday, May 30th. Everyone is invited to gather at SoJ at 11:30 a.m. to pray with our team
members and give them a rousing farewell! Beginning that night, and every night until the team
returns June 11th, the Prayer Vision Team will have a prayer station set-up in the worship center. If
you’d like to gather for prayer to support the team’s efforts to bring homes and a spirit of greater
joy to Burundi, feel free to visit the worship center any night from 7 to 9 p.m. Pray for a short time

Burundi Missionary Team Sponsorships – Sponsors are still welcome as a way of supporting
our Burundi Mission Trip team. Forms are available at the Mission Trip table in the lobby. All dona-
tions are tax deductible. Make checks out to SoJ with Burundi Sponsorship on the memo line.
Sponsors will be invited to a post-trip celebration to hear stories of God’s activity.

YouthWorks Mission Trip Opening – One spot has opened up on our July 22-27 mission trip to
Birmingham, Alabama. If you or someone you know would like to go contact Pete Westlake!

Young Adult Community (YAC) – Our YAC includes our college ministry and young adult min-
istry. To keep informed of activities, sign up for our e-newsletter at the Welcome Center!

Join Hands Day, June 9th – This year SoJ and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are partnering to
help repair and spruce up the Harvest of Hope Food Pantry. Our goal is to recruit 50 volunteers to
landscape, paint, pressure clean, panel, and do other projects Saturday June 9th beginning at 9:00
a.m. Thrivent will provide $1000 to defray the cost of materials! On the same day that some of
our members will be serving our Christian neighbors in Africa, it’s fitting that we join hands to
serve our local neighbors as well! All skill levels and ages are welcome…including cooks to

June Outreach Team Project – SoJ's Outreach Team will be collecting Monetary Donations for a
Bible Verse Marathon/Picnic June 30th at Harvest of Hope. Please use a SoJ offering envelope,
label it Outreach and place it in the offering basket. Checks should be made payable to SoJ with
"Outreach" written on the memo line. All gifts must be received by June 24th. Thanks!

Interfaith Hospitality Network News!

 Volunteer Meeting June 7th – An IHN volunteer meeting will be held 7pm Thursday, June 7th
to obtain feedback and seek ways to improve the operation for our next hosting June 17-24. Pre-
vious volunteers and those who may be considering serving in the future are welcome to attend
to learn more about IHN, the hosting week schedule and how your talents can be used in this
caring ministry. Sign up at the Welcome Center so we know how many to expect.
 Volunteer Sign-Up – Volunteer sign-up begins next Sunday for the 120 volunteer positions. If
you haven’t volunteered before, go to the IHN web site or talk with the many who
have volunteered. SoJ has received many praises from the families we’ve hosted, from other
host churches, and from the IHN personnel. Watch for the sign-up sheet next week.

Paid Nursery Attendant Wanted – To provide continuity in care and ease our nursery’s
volunteer load, SoJ is hiring a part-time nursery attendant to work Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. Applicants should be faithful Christians, love children, and have a background in early
childhood education. If you, or someone you know is interested, contact Pastor Jeff.

Bicycle Ministry – This unique SoJ ministry provides bicycles to people in need. Volunteers are
needed, meeting in the back storage room at 10am, the 2nd Saturday each month, and 10am
Wednesdays. Sign up at the Welcome Center. Questions? Call Will Stevenback: 407-401-1963.

Youth Recycling Project – SoJ’s youth are now able to recycle inkjet, laser cartridges, AND cell
phones. Please bring your empty cartridges and unused cell phones to the Welcome Center
and drop them into the appropriate boxes. Thanks for partnering with us in this fundraiser!

Joy Singers – Our adult choir is open to anyone from high school age and up. We meet on
Wednesdays from 7-8pm and will be preparing choral pieces for our current sermon series.

Children's Choir – Our Children’s Choir will be taking a break for the summer following today’s
performance of The Tale of Three Trees.

Joyful Noise – Our Sunday morning worship team rehearses on Thursdays from 7-9pm. We are
currently looking for an additional bass player and vocalists. Interested? Contact Phil Greve.

Drama Team – SoJ's Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing
their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience. If you would like to be involved in
the Drama Team, please contact Sandy and Doug Gaston at 407-382-4027.

Private Music Lessons – The Creative Arts Studio has 11 instructors teaching almost every
instrument and voice. For more information or to register, pick up a flyer in the Welcome Center.
