Instructions for Centers That Have a Dedicated Admin Station

Does the Prometric software load automatically when you log on to your Admin Station as the DTS2 user? YesAfter we log on the Prometric software loads and gives us the option to Start Application or Start Explorer. NoAfter I log on I am presented with the Windows desktop. I run Pulse and Polaris directly from this computer. NoMy Admin Station is separate from the test center and I use a remote connection program to run Pulse and Polaris from the sites server.

Congratulations! Your Admin is configured properly to load TCFlow.

Action needed! You must run Seat Setup on your Admin in order to prepare for TCFlow. Instructions for running Seat Setup can be found on http://www.prometric.com/aptc When running seat setup, enter ADMIN as the name of the machine.

Action Needed! TCFlow will work best with an Admin Station that is located inside the testing center, that loads the Prometric software. See the section below (Instructions for Centers That Do NOT Have a Dedicated Admin Station) for options.

Security Settings
TCFlow uses new technology that is very security aware. In order to load some of the necessary components from your sites server, your test stations need to trust the server. We have seen some centers where the test stations and Admin Stations did not know to trust the server because of how they were connected. To make sure you will not receive an error after you install TCFlow, please follow these steps on each of your stations: 1. Restart the station and log in as DTS2 2. When you are asked to select Start Application or Start Explorer select Start Explorer. 3. Open a command prompt by clicking Start, selecting Run, and then entering cmd into the run dialog box and clicking OK. 4. A black command prompt window will open. Type Net use F: and press enter.

5. When you type the command above, information about how your F: drive is connected to the server will be displayed. 6. Look for the line that says Remote Name. This will be followed by the network location that the F: drive is connected to. It will look like two back slashes \\ followed by the name of your server, another backslash, and then dts.

7. Locate the name of your server on the line described above. Which of the following best matches how your server name is listed? The server name is a series of numbers with a dot . between them, such as 10.2.1.1 or 192.168.1.5 You may experience a problem. Ask your technician for assistance with changing the F: drive mapping to use the server name instead of the IP address of the server. The server name is a series of words with a dot . between them, such as servername.companyname.com You may experience a problem. Ask your technician for assistance changing the F: drive mapping to use just the server name, instead of the Fully Qualified Domain Name. The server name is one single word (the name of your server computer) as shown in the example above Congratulations! Your station is set up correctly.

Troubleshooting TCFlow Related Issues

I have a candidate at my center, but they dont show on my testing station. 1. Make sure you have completed the Check In Process on the admin station. The candidate will not show on the station roster until Check In has been completed. 2. If the candidate does not show on the station after you complete Check In, click the Full Roster button on the top of the TCFlow screen. This will cause all checked in candidates to be displayed, rather then just those assigned to the current station. 3. If the candidate does not show on the Admin Station or the Testing Station, or if the candidate does not show on the Testing Station after following the steps above, contact the Prometric Help Desk for assistance.

TCFlow starts on my test stations, but not my admin station. 1. Make sure you are logging into the admin as the DTS2 user. Other users will not automatically load the Prometric software. 2. If TCFlow still does not load when you log in as DTS2, it is likely that the station has never had the Prometric software installed. If you are using your server as an admin station, you will need to install a separate admin station running Windows XP. If you cannot setup a dedicated admin station, you can also have a test station double as an admin station. Refer to the User Guide for instructions.
