INT. KITCHEN/DINING AREA. NIGHT There is relatively loud slow music playing: Shai - Come with me. Matt is in the kitchen, which is conjoined to the dining Area, completing preparations for dinner. MATT (singing along) I got a call.... A telephone call today... Somebody’s offering a job a thousand miles away, and i want to take it: it’s the opportunity of a lifetime ... but i need a second opinion. an opinion other than mine. So I... I’m turning to you... because you always seem to know what to do... when times like these arise, I call ... He begins to set the table, dancing with the cutlery in his hands. He navigates his way rhythmically from the kitchen to the dining area. Still singing along, he checks his watch and peeks into the hall. He smiles and returns into the kitchen where he picks up a recipe book and chuckles to himself as he conceals it, placing it on top of the fridge. He picks up a bottle of red wine and opens it. Then pours it into a glass. MATT (singing) I think I’ll drink for three tonight! We deserve it. He then carefully lights the candles and, still swaying, stands to admire his work. I never wanted anything as much as i want you with me ... you were the one who said ... to follow my dreams; of having a house! A car! a view of the stars! And a beautiful wife... Dances with his glass of wine with his hands as though they were wrapped around a woman. (singing) yeah I need someone i can grow with ... I need some love in mt life ... so I ... I’m turning to you... because you always seem to know what to do ... when times like these arise ... I call ... on the only real love in my life ... You are my girl ... yeah I! (MORE) (CONTINUED)
MATT (cont’d) ... I want to know ... should I really really go ... and if so... are you coming with me, I ... I’ve got to know ... if you really want me to go ... and if so ... Come with me... Checks his watch, it’s half past seven. Then begins to dance his way toward the hallway. (singing) Come with me... Come with me ... Come with me ... yeah! yeah! yeah! yeah! come with me ...
INT. HALL. NIGHT Still part singing and swaying, part walking, Matt enters the hall. He begins to tidy the entrance. Matt stops singing and heads toward the phone. My fingers were freezing and I was struggling to use the keys. Takes her coat and hangs it up on the coat rack. MATT It’s not a problem honey. Come! Come! LORI It’s nice and warm in here... Mmm! Whats that smell MATT Closes her lips with his finger Shh! ... Close your eyes. LORI Mmm! what have you been up to? I knew I shouldn’t have left you on your own! MATT Shh! Listen! As she does, he begins to dance around the table. LORI Wow! Matt, still dancing, takes her hand and leads her to a seat. She resists his attempts to get her to dance with him. MATT Sit and dine my lady. You look wonderful! (singing) No one else can make me feel... The colors that you bring ... Stay with me while we grow old ... And we will live each day in springtime ... He kisses her on the cheek. He then, still swaying, heads to the kitchen and picks up a bottle and shows it to her. She nods her okay and he opens the bottle and dances over to her. My lunch was cold by the time I got to it. You know how fussy I get sometimes. Matt walks back to his seat and places the naan bread on the table. MATT Yeah I know! Trust me, I do! LORI Shut up! MATT I had my fingers crossed the whole time I was cooking. LORI For me to like it or to live through it! MATT Good one ... Now, how much rice would you like. LORI That’s enough. There is silence as he continues to serve on both plates. When he’s done, they begin to eat.
CONTINUED: (3) MATT So how did the rest of your day go! LORI To be honest I don’t remember most of it. Sophie’s droning on must have hampered my short term memory. Both laugh. MATT She’s not that bad though is she! LORI She is! I don’t know how Liam does it; being around her all the time. MATT well, she is his wife! I just thank God that I have you.

MATT No ... it’s quite hard though and there not that many that haven’t been used already. There is brief silence. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to come for the ultrasound yesterday. LORI It’s a lovely night Matt, lets not ruin it. I love you and you’ve got that look on your face. MATT What look? LORI That look! MATT (smiling) I have some good news, and some better news. Which would you like first? LORI What have you gone and done this time! MATT I quit Musgrave this morning... Yes! ... Handed in my notice this morning. LORI How come? MATT I got the librarian job! MATT Do you remember! LORI How could I forget. He tries to sway with her. She’s reluctant. MATT Come honey, dance with me. LORI It’s a lot to take in. She relaxes and, resting her head on his shoulder, dances. MATT I know my love ... Remember where we first heard this. LORI Yeah. Matt softly sings along. Catherine! MATT what? LORI A name for her. MATT Catherine. It’s beautiful. He stops swaying and, on one knee, speaks to her stomach. Catherine! Did you hear that my love. That’s your name! He kisses her stomach.
