SPENDING PLAN I have encouraged one of my family members and 3 close friends to create their own spending plan

within two weeks, from 25.09.2006 to 08.10.2006. Mr. V’s budget within two weeks - from 25.09.2006 to 08.10.2006. Mr. V is a project coordinator who earns B$3,000 per month. He has to support his wife and two children. Hence, by encouraging him to create his own spending plan within these two weeks had made him realised that spending plan is actually very important and useful because it allows him to understand his spending habits as well as to know where all his money had gone to. Also, it allows him to control his cost by not spending on unnecessary items.

Mrs. T’s budget within two weeks – from 25.09.2006 to 08.10.2006. Mrs. T is an education officer who earns B$2,600 per month. Week 1 Week 2 Day-to-day spending (estimated) (25.09.06 – 01.10.06) (02.10.06 – 08.10.06) Food 30 55 Car petrol 25 30 Newspapers & magazines 6 30 Apparels 250 Entertainment fee – movie & popcorn 30 Allowance - parents 200 Miscellaneous (DVD / VCD / Supplement food / haircuts, etc) 150 20 TOTAL SPENDING 241 585 Comment: Mrs. T feels very happy after given the chance to create her own spending plan within these 2 weeks because it allows her to understand more about her own spending habits. She believes that the continuation of creating her own spending plan will help her to spend wisely and to save more money for future use.

By creating this spending plan, it really helps a lot to control her expenses.

The plan has helped her to see how much she has spent and also shown her just how much money she has wasted on unnecessary items. She feels that if she continues with the spending plan, her future money matters would be easier to handle.
