Rules for the First Slate Election

1) Each candidate may spend up to a max. of $50 on his/her campaign (own funds). 2) Campaign posters and signs may not measure greater than 17 x 11. 3) Each Candidate can post a maximum of 10 posters. 4) Campaign material may NOT be posted in the following areas:
Deans waiting area Door entrances Painted walls, eg. White walls along the stairwell New wooden panels on the 2nd floor, just outside the newly renovated professional practice lab. CAPSI, LKS, and Kappa Psi bulletin boards. Any other bulletin boards in the IRC other than the Pharmacy board.

5) Each candidate is to prepare a speech, not exceeding 1 min, to present to each of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year classes. (dates TBA) A candidate is NOT allowed to make another speech other than at the specified times set by the Elections Officer. If you are not able to present your speech, you may send a representative (preferably your campaign manager) to speak for you or call/E-mail Joan before the speech date. 6) Nomination forms must be completely filled out and dropped off in the SILVER MAILBOX IN THE PHUS LOUNGE before Wednesday Nov. 9th at 5:00pm. Incomplete and late forms will NOT be accepted. 7) All candidates must attend an All candidates meeting at 5:00pm on Wednesday Nov. 9th in the PhUS lounge. If you are not able to make this meeting, please send a representative (preferably your campaign manager) or call/E-mail Joan before Wednesday Nov. 9th. If you do not do any of the above, then your candidacy will be considered invalid. 8) Campaigning will take place starting Thursday Nov. 10th at 8:00am and ending Friday Nov. 18th at 5:00pm. 9) There is to be no badmouthing or disrespect of any sort towards other candidates or the Elections Officer. Any candidate who does not adhere to this or any of the rules will be immediately disqualified from the election. 10) Elections times will be announced at a later time and will take place in class. 11) Votes will be tabulated in the PhUS office. (date TBA) Candidates may send one scrutinizer (to watch, not to count votes) if they wish. Any candidate who questions the election results may not do so if they did not have a scrutinizer present during the counting process. 12) Candidates will be notified by E-mail regarding the election results.
