Topic: Assessing organizational culture of a organization/ company I. Introduction.

Established in 1895, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is non-profit organization (NGO) with the mission to save wildlife and wild places around the globe. The organization was started with the successful helping the American bison recover on the Western Plains. Besides conservation work in five parks in New York City, WCS now is managing about 500 conservation projects in more than 60 countries including Vietnam. WCS protects the nature through science, global conservation, education and the management of the world's largest system of urban wildlife parks, led by the flagship Bronx Zoo. Together these activities change attitudes towards nature and help people imagine wildlife and humans living in harmony. WCS accumulates the power of the global conservation work to create the world’s most comprehensive conservation organization. WCS operates many country programs; therefore, the organization sets up many branches in different coordinating countries. It is understandable that each WCS’s branch has different style of management and culture. This paper will focus on assessing the organizational of Vietnam WCS. Understanding the organizational culture of a large organization such as WCS is very important because it partly reflects the integrated consensus within the organization, the level of completing the mission and the effectiveness of the global conservation activities. Therefore, evaluating and measuring the organizational culture can help WCS recognize its strengths and weaknesses, and then adjust to enhance its organizational culture. Combining the collected data from survey, interview and observation with applying the Denison model, the research is conducted with the aim to suggest WCS toward the better organizational culture.
