What are adverbs?
They are used to describe actions, to modiIy adjectives or other adverbs in a sentence.
Most adverbs end in 'ly, but there are many exceptions.
Examples: slowly / dangerously / early / Iast / lately / quickly / well / badly / hard

What kinds of adverbs are there?
There are diIIerent kinds oI adverbs, including adverbs oI time, adverbs oI place,
adverbs oI certainty, adverbs oI manner and adverbs oI degree. They are usually used in
various situations.

Why do you use adverbs of manner and degree?
Adverbs oI manner show how something happens. They are usually placed aIter the
main verb or aIter the object.
Example: She dances beautiIully.
Adverbs oI degree show the degree oI an action, an adjective or another adverb. They
are usually seen aIter the main verb but in Iront oI the adjective or another adverb.
Example: She dances very beautiIully.

ow do you change adjectives into adverbs?
Some adverbs can be derived Irom the adjectives. They are Iormed in diIIerent ways.
