Launch of Universal Primary Education Enrolment Campaign 2011 Education is the fundamental right of every human being and

the responsibility of state. Government of Pakistan has committed to provide “Education For All” in minimum possible time but still almost 50 million people are illiterate. Helping government of Pakistan achieve MDGs and EFA goals is the prime mandate of NCHD’s education program. To achieve this goal, the Commission has prioritized “Education for All” and taken a two-pronged approach towards this: • • Curbing the annual increase in the illiterate pool-by ensuring all children enroll in school and don’t drop out before learning to read and write; Dealing with the “back-log” of adult illiterates-by implementing literacy programs in communities

Current estimates suggest that about 80% of all Pakistan's deaths and about 90% of all illnesses result from diseases, which are considered preventable. This

means that four out of every five deaths could have been prevented, while out of every ten people who are ill nine needs not to be ill. These unnecessary deaths and sufferings are overwhelmingly caused by: (a) Inappropriate health behaviors which is widespread, and

NCHD health initiatives focus on enhancing the quality of life by providing preventive healthcare services at the doorsteps and creating vital linkages between the government departments and communities. The CTLC Program aims at creating opportunities for the educated yet unprivileged women of the most remote areas of Pakistan and allowing learners to be acquainted with and learn computer skills in a hands-on-training course. Achievements: Capacity development program has covered 48 districts. NCHD's health programs are designed to improve communities' behavior toward health and preventable diseases.(b) The most basic of primary health care services are not accessible to a large percentage of the population. Microsoft Corporation has approved NCHD as the certifying agency for this course. These efforts make them successful partners in implementation of development programmes. This program builds up the capacity of district line department officials and elected representatives.
