To Tweet or Not to Tweet ... in Class? 1. Tweeting group discussion guarantees that all students are able to participate. This makes the discussion and classroom more democratic. 2. Tweeting in class creates a visual record of the discussion. This is particularly helpful for students who need visual support in addition to auditory input during class discussions. 3. In addition to visual support, texting is a kinaesthetic activity and as such, can reach more learning modalities. 4. The written record of the class discussion can be used for additional writing and discussion activities.

PD?

Can we afford the time to bring everyone together? Is anything for everyone and if it is how much follow-up can be provided to all? How much is retained / put into practice?

Very expensive speakers tweeting everyday. Positive / informative / news / classroom fodder? RT to create "back-channel" chat amongst student followers

WHO’S FOLLOWING WHO

Look at the ʻfollowingʼ lists to move up the ʻinfluence hierarchyʼ In 15 minutes you can be following 20 people who might be worth trying for 2 weeks to test how useful their ino it. You can always unfollow if after a time it seems uninteresting.

2 accounts help manage personal and professional interests They both run in the 'app' simultaneously and will switch by touching the profile pic on the left.
