Disassembly
ESD Precautions are required when working on this LIFEBOOK computer. Make sure the LIFEBOOK is turned off before beginning this procedure.

1. Turn the LIFEBOOK over.

Remove the Battery.

3. Extract 2 screws that secure the Hard Drive cover.

Remove the Hard Drive cover.

Extract 2 screws that secure the fan. 14. Extract 1 screw securing the fan door cover. Page 4 . 15. 12. 13.11. Extract 1 screw that secures the wireless cover. Disconnect the fan connector. Remove both antennas from the Sierra WWAN card as shown. 16. Remove the fan. Extract 1 screw that secures the Sierra WWAN card.

Remove 1 screw that secures the wireless card. 18. 22. (Note: There’s a clip on the bottom that holds the hinge cover). 19.17. 20. 21. Remove the Sierra WWAN card. Remove 8 screws from the Lower cover as shown. Page 5 . Remove Hinge Cover. Remove the wireless card. Remove both antennas from the wireless card as shown.

23. 25. Lift Up the Keyboard. Disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board. Remove the Keyboard sheet as shown. 26. Disconnect the Application board from the cable as shown. Disconnect the Application cable from the system board. 28. 24. Remove 1 screw that secures the Application board as shown. Page 6 . 27.

Disconnect the Application cable from the Bluetooth board. Disconnect the Glidepoint cable from the system board. 32. 31. Release clip then remove Bluetooth board as shown. 33. 30. Lift up the microphone from the post as shown. Page 7 . 34.29. Remove 4 screws that secure the Upper Cover assembly. Lift up and remove the Upper Cover assembly.

Remove the LCD cable. Remove the digitizer cable as shown. (Note: Cable is secured by tape).35. 40. Page 8 . 39. 38. Remove the LCD assembly. Disconnect the microphone connector from audio board. Unroute the Antenna wires as shown. 37. 36. Extract 4 screws from the LCD hinge.

Disconnect the 2 cable from the Fingerprint Digitizer board. Remove 1 screw from the ambrient light sensor board. 58. 62. Remove 4 screws as shown. Remove 4 screw covers as shown.

Remove the screw cover for the front hinge cover as shown. Lift up the LCD. Disconnect the cable from the ambrient light sensor board. 66. Lift up the webcam.63.

Remove tape that secures the wireless antennas as shown. 70. 71. Remove 1 screw from the front hinge cover. 72.69. 74. Remove 2 screws from the hinge. 73. Remove the front and rear hinge cover. Page 14 . Remove the LCD cable. Remove the hinge and unroute cables as shown.

Remove the main WWAN wireless antenna. Page 15 . (Note: Depends on configuration of unit). Photo of LCD Back Cover. Remove the Wireless Lan antenna. 76.75. 77. 79. Lift up the plastic cable router. Lift lever then remove 1 screw that secures the Main WWAN antenna. 78.

Secure the main WWAN antenna with 1 screw. Position the lever as shown. 3. Re-route the cables and replace the hinge on the LCD back cover. 6. .5. Connect the front and rear hinge cover. 7. Replace the LCD cable. Secure wireless antenna with tape as shown. 9. Secure the hinge with 2 screws as shown. Page 17 10. Attached the Wireless LAN antenna. 8.

Secure the LCD assembly with 2 screws. Replace the hinge front cover. Connect cable to webcam and replace the webcam as shown. 15.

Page 19 . Connect the cable to the ambrient light sensor board. 22. Secure the sensor board with 1 screw. Secure the Fingerprint Digitizer board with 2 screws. Replace the LCD Front cover. Connect the 2 cable to the Fingerprint Digitizer board. 18.17. 19. Secure the LCD Front cover with 4 screws. 21. 20.

Connect speaker cable to the Audio board. Secure the Audio board with 2 screws. Page 20 . 24. 27. Replace the Audio board. Begin Base assembly. 25.23. 26. 28. Replace the 4 screw cover. Connect the Audio cable to the Audio board as shown.
