Thermostatic Tempering Valves

Series LMV Thermostatic Tempering Valves maintain and limit mixed hot water to a desired, selectable temperature. The LMV can be set to any temperature between 95F 110F with flow rates as low as 0.5 gpm and as high as 3.3 gpm (refer to capacity chart on back). This tempering valve is listed under, ASSE 1070 for valves used in individual or multiple fixture applications and also listed IAPMO cUPC. The superior flow characteristics of this valve provide accurate temperature control with low pressure drop across the rated flow range. As an added feature, the LMV incorporates integral inlet filters and check valves in both the hot and cold water inlets to protect against cross flow and debris.

WARNING

Specifications
A Thermostatic Tempering Valve shall be installed on the hot water supply to fixture. The valve shall be ASSE 1070 and IAPMO cUPC listed and control the temperature of the hot water. It shall have a bronze body and shall include integral filters and check valves and an adjustment nut with locking feature. The valve shall be a Watts Series LMV.

Applications
The LMV Thermostatic Tempering valve is ideal for supplying sinks, or lavatories with tempered water. The LMV valves can be used in residential, commercial and institutional environments. This thermostatically modulated mixing valve can be used anywhere preset water temperature is required for point-of-use installations such as in homes, schools, restaurants, hospitals, beauty salons, and public restrooms. The LMV is provided with an adjustment nut that includes a locking feature. The LMV valves should be used prior to the fixture to reduce the hot water supply to a safe temperature.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH PROPER INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS COULD CONTRIBUTE TO THE VALVE FAILURE, RESULTING IN INJURY AND/OR DEATH. TO ENSURE THE ACCURATE AND RELIABLE OPERATION OF THIS PRODUCT, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO: Properly design the system to minimize pressure and temperature variations. Conduct an annual maintenance program to ensure proper operation of all critical components. This valve is factory preset. However, it can be adjusted to deliver scalding temperatures. Check outlet temperature to ensure it does not exceed 105F (41C). Make sure temperature limit stop is properly re-set to maximum 105F (41C) following valve maintenance or repair. Tampering with limit stop in any way may result in scalding temperature causing serious bodily harm and/or death.

WARNING

Need for Periodic Inspection: Periodic inspection by a licensed contractor is recommended. Corrosive water conditions, and/or unauthorized adjustments or repair could render the valve ineffective for service intended. Regular checking and cleaning of the valves internal components and check stops helps assure maximum life and proper product function. Frequency of cleaning and inspection depends upon local water conditions.
