JUDAS – Moving Forward In Faith

Jesus is sitting quietly by himself when Judas approaches him. JUDAS JESUS JUDAS JESUS JUDAS Eh, Jesus. Yes, Judas. I think one of us has lost the plot here. Why is that Judas? Well, Jesus, we all talked and prayed this through. You, as well as us disciples. We have spent hours in prayer meetings and planning what we should do. We all agree that God is doing something really special here. We all believe he is calling you to bring in the Kingdom, but we must stick to the game plan. Jerusalem is the crunch point, and we will not take it like this. We need to send in all of our followers to prepare the ground. They will be our evangelistic team, going door to door if necessary telling people that you are their saviour and the saviour of the nation. We can have marches witnessing to your ministry. Meetings to spread the good news. We need to make more disciples so we can make a strong move against those who won’t accept change or stand against God’s purpose here. Hang on a minute, Judas. But, Jesus, there is no time left to hang on to. You are risking everything we have worked for. Everything we believe God wants. You gave us a vision, and now you are throwing it away. - Long Pause – Judas, we have prayed; we have discussed; we have planned; but most of all we have tried to listen for God’s voice. You may think you have caught a glimpse of His vision for this time and this place, but that is all it is – a glimpse. Our Heavenly Father does want to usher in the Kingdom here, but he will choose the method and the time. He will do it His way and how He sees it, not how we see it. But Jesus, you told us the Kingdom is at hand and that even now, strong men take it by force. We need to be strong in our faith, resolute in our purpose and focussed on building the Kingdom. We can see the goal and need to plan to make it happen. We can do this. We can do it for Him. Judas, Judas! How many times must we go through this? How many good men and women have planned and plotted to enable the Kingdom to come in their time only to see their hopes dashed and people disillusioned or hurt? The Kingdom of God is the Movement of God. You can no more force God to move than you can fly to the moon. Make your plans, make your moves, but

don’t expect our Heavenly Father to comply with them. Trust Him and His plans. Concentrate on the depth of your work and ministry and let Him worry about the width. Listen and trust. Pray and plead. But do not try to move God by your own plans and abilities. JUDAS Wait on God! Is that what you are saying? How long must we wait? How long must we be inactive? We must never be inactive. We must always serve our Heavenly Father; but I would rather be a waiter serving at His table than a stumbling soldier moving forward without Him. So the mighty Saviour is reduced to waiting at tables instead of fighting for the cause! We can kiss goodbye to the Kingdom then. Judas, you are right. The final part of this move of God will start with a kiss. Our Heavenly Father wants to kiss this guilty world with His grace and love. Look to Him and lean not on your own understanding. Seek his face and let the light of his love shine on you. Words and songs will never bring in the Kingdom. We need action. We need to be strong. We need to make it happen. And you will make it happen, Judas, but at what cost? Jesus, I am willing to pay the cost. Even if it means I lose my life. Me too, Judas. But I will lay down my life when and how our Heavenly Father chooses. Until then I will follow Him day by day and leave the planning to Him. No change then. We stay like we are in the present until we die. Yes there will be change Judas. But while you are willing to settle for the silver coins of man-made change, my Father only desires true gold, which is a loving heart that seeks his presence above everything else and at any cost. God will move when our hearts speak louder than our heads and our actions follow our hearts. Man made programmes and plans do not impress Him and can never persuade Him. If we were both to die today, how will you explain to Him that you tried to force me to establish His Kingdom because you were too impatient to wait? I will cross that bridge if I come to it, Jesus. And as for me, I will build that bridge with a cross. I still have things to do Jesus. Go with God. (Judas leaves) I will, Judas, and I hope that in the end, you will too.
