Official Newsletter of the Florida District of Key Club International’s District Treasurer

If your club does not pay dues by Dec. 1st then they will be considered in bad standing. A club in bad standing is ineligible for awards, cannot attend district or international convention, and will be unable to receive Florida and Youth Opportunity Fund grants. Make sure the treasurer, president, and advisor are on the same page. Remember to speak with your bookkeeper. Also, remember that unforeseen issues can and do occur. Your club needs to have the check in the mail by November 31st. Make sure you leave time for the bookkeeper to process the check and mail it. They should follow up until they know the check has been mailed. On time dues and good membership is important to a healthy club, so far over 100 clubs in the Florida District have been confirmed as 'Dues Paid' clubs. (Please see other attachment).

Club Budget Excel Sheet
I have also attached a sample budget created by your own Executive Assistant Devon Mims. I have reviewed it and it should fit just about any club 's budget with little to no editing. If you need any assistance adding lines or events just give me a call or send me an e-mail. ALL clubs should keep a financial record and as the treasurer this is your responsibility. This budget will allow you to plan for future incomes and expenses as well as record previous and current ones. I recommend your club creating a 'Key Club Treasurer' flash drive and keeping this and any other treasurer related documents for your club on it. If you maintain it regularly it shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes a week (if that).
Trick or Treat for UNICEF and The Eliminate Project Information
There have been many questions concerning Trick or Treat for UNICEF money and this should clarify. The Eliminate Project fundraising is a major goal in our district, we want to save at least 25,000 babies by raising $45,000. Please do your best to get be involved with The Eliminate Project. -All Trick or Treat for UNICEF money needs to be turned in by Dec. 31st -If a club turns in $250 or more by Dec. 31st for Trick or Treat for UNICEF they will receive a patch at convention. -The funds do not have to be raised by Trick or Treating for UNICEF, you can do other fundraisers as well, just send that money in with the form (will show later). -All funds will be going to The Eliminate Project, any money donated for Trick or Treat for UNICEF will go to The Eliminate Project. -Visit unicefusa.org/keyclub for a copy of the form. -Make checks out to Kiwanis International Foundation, mail to 3636 Woodview Trace Indianapolis, IN 46268, and write for The Eliminate Project on the memo line.. If there are any further questions just send me an e-mail or give me a call. Hopefully this clears everything up.
