1 Week to New Vision – Liberation - I Dare You
This Video (uploading)
A rose put forth a bud the other day. Imagine that – in November. I was glad to go cut it to bring in before the freeze. Actually, it got down to 30 degrees one night, so I was a bit late, but the bud still looks lovely, as it slowly opens a bit. I am blessed. Nature, just like life (or as Life), scatters blessings like this all around us. I'm like a child when I notice one of them – so happy to see the special treat, presented lovingly just for me. Now, don't think I don't mean exactly what I say, here. This is not metaphorical. It's a real rose, a real gift, and made and meant for me. That's how I see it. Now, would it hurt you to try this sort of vision on, maybe for just one week? What do you think? Could you adopt this new perspective, take it for a trial run for that time? Who knows – you might even get enough out of it to stimulate curiosity to try it for longer. One thing's for sure – it is joyful. What is our perspective on life? Are we convinced that it's the “right” one, the “only one that makes sense?” Have a good look at that. If you do, you may begin to see how it's the start and maybe the finish of most of your anguish and pain. There are as many perspectives on life as there are beings living it. Could they possibly all be wrong, just so you could be right? Some people think that way, unconsciously. It's fun to notice those things – very liberating. There's no need to be bound up in mind that way. That's what it is, you know.
That being that you take to be you, that thinks itself always right? That's the mind. It's a cruel taskmaster until we notice this state of affairs. Once we see through it, though – all of that is simply over. That's when our new life begins. It's a choice. It's always a choice, how we see things. When the choice was made for us by the adults raising or teaching us in childhood, though, it can be rather difficult to separate out from that – to see it as “not us.” This goes along with adopting the perspective that all four levels of mind are just mind, and are all ours: unconscious, subconscious, conscious, and super-conscious. All of these are just one, and it's time we each took ownership of them all. We're not used to being responsible in this way – to standing up and owning the fullness of self – nowhere near it. We're taught, instead, to point fingers of blame – to be both discontent and quite convinced that it's through no fault of our own. That's a recipe for sadness and eventual despair, unless we see through the trickster's traps, and simply walk free. I am so liking the gentle way this waking up happens, overall. It's just a matter of either turning away or just walking away from that which I was convinced, before, had me tightly bound. It has been difficult, learning of all the lies and outright deceit practiced on all of us, universally, from every side. It's been a real education to realize the dark depths at which some people, some beings are willing to live – the dark things they practice on the rest of us – just to see and accept that. That was the really challenging part of this path, so far. I truly wanted to believe in the kernel, the morsel of Light I knew to be hidden within each of us. Oh, how I resisted the discovery that some really do like to do evil. They have no qualms about things that would shatter a gentle soul to commit. Yet, this had to be faced. It had to be seen – to be really looked into, not just looked at. Whatever it takes to come to acceptance that this is the way of things – that's what it requires. Our tendency to want to just look the other way had to be looked at and recognized, as well. Sometimes, even many times, that's appropriate – but not if you're running from things.
Truth – those who love Truth enough are the ones who have what it takes to walk this way. We take some hard knocks, some really destructive ones, along the way. Our self, as we knew it, actually gets destroyed. It dies. Really, and truly, it does, no more to return. Are we ready for that? We are, if our love for Truth is real. There are other ways in, but this one is truly reliable, for Truth, itself, is divine – is the Godhead in that guise – as Truth. So, rather than the wishful thinking and acting that is so often practiced and taught under “The Law of Attraction” banners, and other catchy phrases, we come to the place in the road where we face the darkness - or our journey upward is done for a time – perhaps for this lifetime. I know these are hard words. What we face is hard, too. We just don't WANT it to be the way that it is. We fight so very hard against that – banging our lovely heads bloody against brick walls. When did you stop? Was it recent, or do you still have a head-bang, now and again? How self-defeating do we find the self being, while still in the grip of old, out-dated beliefs? What does it take Life to do to get us to see those beliefs? How much more fruit of them must we taste? My salvation, perhaps, could be said to be the maxim, “Watch and observe.” Only that. Just this watching, itself, has made such a radical change in this life. It came in on tip toes, whispering and quiet, but after a time I began to notice how very powerful it was – just to watch, without interference – without action of any kind. Do you know how to do that? How to just watch what you're doing and not interfere? So, you see yourself yelling at your spouse, maybe, and you just watch. You do NOT stop yourself – not yet. Not with what I'm sharing, here. It is way to early to take any action when you've only just begun. The toughest part may be not to criticize the self for what you see – not to judge. There's a trick to it, though, and it's this: when you find any judgment or criticism showing up, that's your signal that you fell out of the now – out of heart. There's none of that even possible when we stay centered – guaranteed. Thus, if you see it, that's your proof of being in mind. So you leave. Only that – the movement from mind into heart.
It may sound too simple, simplistic, even, to be so powerful. Well, just try it. You'll see. That simple trick takes almost all the sting out of the difficulty you're having with whatever negative self-element you're observing. It cuts all self-condemnation off at the pass – banishes it completely. You'll be amazed. Give it a try. So, just to be clear, here's the way: • • • Go into heart. Center there. Watch and quietly observe self. Turn the focus inward, completely. Whenever you find monkey mind hamster-wheeling around, drop back down. ◦ Instead of criticizing self for getting distracted, turn that around – focus, instead, on how wonderful it is that you noticed and corrected that by just centering, again. • • Keep after this. Don't give up. Five minutes is fine, then ten. As you “catch” yourself doing something “wrong,” JUST WATCH. Continue on. ◦ Do not stop what you're doing. ◦ Stay in heart ◦ Just observe. As you're faithful to this practice – yes, I admit, it's a practice, lol – you'll begin to be tutored from within. I don't mean a voice or a heavenly being will begin discussing things with you – way more subtle than that. :) You'll just begin to get hunches, intuitions, even new perspectives will suddenly pop in to your awareness. For this to happen, though, you must stay centered, within. Call it heart, call it staying in the now, call it whatever you will, but it's the secret, the open door or portal to Light. Higher Self is available through this connection. You do your part by being determined to keep your attention focused in the chest, or in the now, however you do it. You're REALLY determined about this. At the start, if you're brand new to this, I wouldn't try the whole watch-and-
observe thing. Instead, I'd spend a few weeks or a month just practicing remembering to stay centered. At the start this may be quite a challenge. It was for me. Then again, the way things are accelerating, everywhere, you may have it down pat in a week or even less. So, don't limit yourself. You'll just know when you've got it consistent enough to move on to the watch-and-observe mode. I put post it notes up, everywhere, and sacred statues in odd places – just to bring the sense of the sacred into all of my space, my home. It helped. Whenever I'd pass by one of them, my intention was to pause for a moment to center and get quiet, within. Mostly, at first, it was hit or miss a lot. Sometimes days would go by and I'd quite forget all of it – not even notice them. Sleep-walking... Like I say, though, times have changed. I don't feel we're going to be dealing with time barriers the way we once did, having to take so much time to develop a habit. Just determine to do it, and go with what comes. Don't put expectations on yourself – they're unkind, AND they're mental. The mind is the place we're avoiding throughout all of this. Don't worry – mind will be there to do what you need done when it's needed. You don't go brain dead, just because you start spending so much time centered, centering. The thing that helps you stay out of mind is having a basic understanding of its practices. Mind is always in future or past. As you begin your watch-and-observe practice, you'll notice this. Whenever you're pulled into mind, you lose touch with the present moment. Mind has no use for now, across the board. Mind is the judge, too. Any criticism or judgment, any thinking you're right and someone else isn't – that's guaranteed to be the action of mind. Thus, when these types of things enter your awareness, they're the quick tip off that you've slipped over into mind. Just slip back down into heart, into now. I hope this hasn't been too tedious. It may feel that way for some. To those I say – maybe you're right – maybe it is. Then again, maybe you're just stuck in the mind. Mind is the one who gets bored with the present, no matter what is it is. Again, that impatience, itself, can be your cue to just go back within. You slipped out. Just that simple.
As you often hear me say, I seldom know where the journals are going. There's no right or wrong to them, no “normal” at all. Life in the now is always fresh and new. Discover this for yourself. You may find that keeping a few notes, or even a small journal to record your practice will bring benefit. Go with what feels right to you. Some may even audio record something now and again. Soon, we'll have software good enough to accurately transcribe your recordings into text. Boy, I'd love that! Anyway, the more you focus your attention on the within – the center of the chest works just fine – the more you'll find a sweet sort of nectar filling your middle parts. I don't know what this is – and please, whatever you do, don't set out on this path to achieve something like this. That's a major trap – doing a this to get to a that has no relation to the present moment at all. Still, there is an ever present joy that we find, within, when we're faithful to such a practice. It may be a chi flow – I don't honestly know. Nor do I care. What the heck does it matter what it's origin is, anyway? It just is there. That's enough. See for yourself if this isn't so. I dare ya :))
