Our parishioner Christina Shawver is one of the Battalion Buddies organizers at the High School who are collecting new stuffed animals for children of service members who are deployed email her at schsbuddies@aol.com. AA meets at 7:30 every Tuesday in the parish hall. An open discussion format is used. Flag Retirement Ceremony: Boy Scout Troop 176 and Scoutmaster Doug Hayes invite parishioners to join them in retiring several US flags, in the lower gravel parking lot after Mass on Dec 3rd. (You are asked to park elsewhere this evening.) The Scouts are one of the few organizations authorized to properly retire flags beyond useful service and consider it a great honor to be entrusted with this duty. Please join them for this solemn and impressive ceremony. Christmas in Jamaica: The LifeSavers invite you to attend their fundraiser on Sunday in the Parish Hall, after Mass. Proceeds go to help the poor in Jamaica and Haiti, and we ask that you support their efforts to serve the poor. Parish Council: After their meeting on December 6th, current members of the Parish Council will be contacting the parishioners who were nominated to determine their willingness to serve. The selection will occur in December. K of Cs Light Up for Christ celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 6th, at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Parishioners are asked to bring cookies to share after the lighting of the tree, prayers and carol singing. Contact: Bill Greenwell Holy Day of Celebration: You are encouraged to attend Mass on Thursday, December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, at 7:00 PM. Read Dear Padre on the back of the bulletin for an explanation of the feast. Religious Education for Children: Our sessions will resume on Sunday, December 4th, 9:45-11:15 AM I am asking parents to please make an effort to arrive on time to minimize the disruptions. Paul: A big thank you to everyone for your gracious welcome as I had the privilege of being installed as the pastor of St. Francis Xavier and All Saints. A special thank you to everyone who had a part in the celebration: the musicians for the beautiful music, the various ministers at the Mass, and all those who helped provide for the meal afterwards. I am truly blessed to have been assigned to two wonderful parishes! God bless us always! Advent Devotional Material: Advent materials and blessed Candles are still available on the table near the loft stairs to assist you and your family with Advent preparations. Be sure to check each week for new offerings help yourself. Advent Charity: All of the 25 Angels were taken from our tree and you are reminded that gifts are to be wrapped and returned with the angel tag attached by the weekend of December 17th/18th. Angels #55 and #68 were not signed out please call Mary Anne Cecil, 477-6035, or the Office if you have either of these. We are also participating in the Marine Corps Leagues Toys for Tots drive.
