Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views I'd like to thank him for introducing me.
I'm also a little nervous that he might have raised everyone's expectation about me. I'm sorry I'm a little bit skittish because I'm nervous. It is a very big honor for me to have this opportunity to speak in this one of the greatest learning centers of the world. I have heard about this university's fame and glory so many times. But I've never even imagined that I would actually come here and speak on the campus. As you all know, learning is a passion for many of us. Especially learning the ultimate truth since to be a big passion even since without memories. Even today we human beings have not stop learning and seeking the truth. For me, personally, the Buddhism is just another angle of learning or tools to find the truth. Although its history is originated in India, it became popular in many different parts of the world. Especially today. Even though I don't know so much, but I hear about Master Hsuan Tsang's diligence and determination to really study the truth. According to Buddhism, all his sacrifice and endurance are just amazing. Almost inconceivable. If you ask me how much relevance of that to today as far as Buddhism is concerned. I especially think it did does a lot. Not necessarily as a religion, but as a means to, as a tool to find or actualize the truth. And you may wonder maybe because of Buddhism is something that originates from India. So it really doesn't have much relevance to China or elsewhere. I think things are not like that. I'll leave this to Prof. Sharf. He will talk about this in the afternoon. I'd like to talk a little bit about Buddhism view. As the view is what drives us. Before we talk about the Buddhism view. Again, I think we ask this question: why Buddhism? I think that question can be simply and easily answered of that. Why everything? Why science? Why technology? Why economy? I think why Buddhism because fundamentally we all want to have fun. We want to be happy and we want to really have fun, the fun that lasts long, and cheap if possible, and portable fun. I think this is the same case for everything like science, technology. If you look at what we do, we are always looking for fun. Of course, the definition of what is fun differs. Different beings. Different cultures. Different nationalities. Different generations. And then because of that, the methods or the tools to acquire the truth also then began to have different varieties. According to the Indian prince Siddhartha, the reason why we are not able to have the fun as much as we want depends basically only on one reason. We are always looking at something fake, unreliable, uncertain. And then we think that's the truth. An absolute truth. And that is ultimately what he called ignorance. This is actually nothing religious. We are talking completely science. If you want to have genuine Italian leather shoes, and if someone tells you what you're wearing is a fake one. Then you will have suffering. And you don't have the courage to be happy with the fake. Not many of us will do. So for this Indian Prince Siddhartha, finding the truth is really happen to be the biggest quest for him. Once he was in the palace, he saw death, old-age and sickness. When he heard that death, old-age and sickness are inevitable and going to happen to everyone. Then naturally he wants to solve that problem. Of course if there is a problem, our immediate reaction is to solve that problem. So he slipped out of palace and left his family. Because his family was against him having this idea of finding the truth. 1
That is very unfortunately. But there is a much better way: a bucket of cold water. He had no choice. this glass is filled with pristine. Anybody. we categorize them into many different categories. These methods I think then began to become so-called Buddhism--the religion. You have no choice. So this yellowish color has you to see there is water. all these sorts of Buddhism methods. So in order to make you see the water. For instance. That's the view. you must say the sky is red. finally he found the truth. I don't think many people have the motivation of becoming slim. and then he realized that you have to accept that truth. Your appreciation of that bucket of cold water is good. So Buddhism methods are usually like that. Why? Because the bucket of cold water has not chased away any tiger. what do we do? We diluted the water a little bit. both ways are wrong. So there are a lot of categories of truth. That's basically the meditation. Maybe right now.
. You read about it. the view is an idea. there are several things you could do. You can chase away this tiger. They are a lot of methods to getting close to the truth. the sky is green. A slim body is good. The view as we said previously. you ask this question: but why all these tools. You should still thank that bucket of cold water because it is good for you. Everything. he has powerful compassion. First. He was not at a gunpoint. Because we then began to get so attracted to the methods rather than the truth. you're dreaming right now. You know what to do. That's how exactly Buddha taught all these teachings. the Buddhists would say. That you are sleeping with a tiger. This is something that most of us might do it right away. there is an idea that SUV and BMW cars are good. Now let's talk about the view. But he had no choice. That's not bad. The truth that he found. Until all these magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan are introduced. Then the unfortunate thing happened. But if you really think it carefully. They are not the real truth. So because of these conditions. He found a truth. If you at a gunpoint. And you're frantic. if someone tells you. get this water that is completely to rim. That does not mean that Buddha finally find a way so that we don't have to die. now you have the motivation to become slim. But the problem is we get too attracted to the color not the water. if I can be very frank. which is nothing more than that dilution.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views
So finally he found. what he has realized was later taught to his students. they are all fake. Basically. you will not see it. But inside you know it's not green. I'll give you two examples here. this is what Buddhist would say. the view is what drives us. And then you are looking for the water. what I'm saying is. Go to the workshops. You were dreaming. you don't see it. but agree and say yes. you try all these methods. or the sky is green. A nightmare. There was no tiger. If you accept that truth. And then cutting down rice. in the first place. So what do you do? You think about becoming slim. Finally he found a moisturizer cream so that our skin would never wrinkle. in that case why Siddhartha taught us all these different schools of Buddhism. You would ask. Right? Of course motivation can be very conditional. you don't suffer. but if you ask me: do they help? Very much! Without them. In other words. in our world. Now motivation comes in. So in Buddhism. Because you think the idea of becoming slim is the ultimate truth. very very clear water. You will not see the water. To get out of that. because the water is too clear. Let's say. why all these methods? Why all these different kind of tools? This is a challenging question. Because next time when you dream again. In order to make them easier accessible. Because.
How? You think that this will last. You think it in terms of a hand. impermanence is a very good news. The color has changed. More will be discussed later. You just never think that one day this is going to be inside of coffin. To live long is a very important issue in the Chinese society. we think yesterday's hand is today's hand. You don't think can I shake your veins. you see monks who have shaved their head. you'd better behave. you should buy moisturizer. Remember what we've discussed right at the beginning? Therefore we are not having fun. you know. This is what Buddha said. not as a part. trying to protect this. as simple as it sound. The second. The shape has changed. Okay. So see now Buddha discovered that this fundamental mistaken view then leads you to suffering. So because we think everything as a whole. Even as we see it's deteriorating day by day. this impermanence has led you to all kinds of unnecessary sufferings. minute by minute. everything compounded as long as something is compounded is all impermanent. There are a lot of particles of a lot of different things. The Buddha's first truth/view that everything is impermanent. Meditation-related. But this is again not the truth. there is no hand. Even Buddhists will go to their master asking for bless. otherwise. so it can live healthy and live forever. and blood or skin. he discovered that no matter where or when. bones. We think it is the same hand. We already see an old man with a peach-. Then really moisturizer companies will have no business. They said that every time you look at your hand. The third mistake is we think it is independent. Like hey. Like the genuine Italian shoes or fake Italian shoes. or Thailand. If today's hand is exactly the same hand as yesterday. So what do you do? You go around the world. Actually. You think it is permanent."xiantao". If you are not millionaire now. It's a discipline to help you remember impermanence. Because even the very action of putting two things together--compounding. thanks to impermanence.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views Running. That he imposed this rule that as a Buddhist you have to shave your hair. Because you have diverted yourself from the truth that no matter what do you do. So all these rituals are actually to take you to this truth. it is not that easy to get used to it. The size has changed. you will die and go to hell and all that. An attitude based on accepting the truth. Because we are so busy taking care of this. So let me share with you four fundamental views of Siddhartha. If your hand is becoming dry. Not that Buddha has some allergy towards long hair. today's hand is yesterday's hand. And if I joke with you. Action-related. you can become millionaire. So it's very important to understand the Buddha's view of impermanence. there are many different methods. Every time you look at you hand. Herbal stuff to slim you down. like Myanmar. 3
. there are three fundamental mistakes you make. you can develop an attitude. Base on this view. Hand cream. First. That's the action. But I'll tell you that. Okay. I'll give you a very popular example coming from Theravada Buddhism. Now let's shift this a little bit. The act of shaving head is a method to remind you the impermanence. So the view is very important. In reality. In order to understand this truth. that is already impermanent. Why? Because of impermanence it will work. it is not necessarily a bad news as many people would think. The first one is you think it in terms of whole. So what do you do? You get attached. Not as a religious threat. I mean. If you go to countries. It's the same hand that you are shaking with. It is not depend on any other things.
I can only do it in English. It is 13. He thinks that. But this is a very big subject in Buddhism study. Then it becomes B. So he realized problem No. That's a big discovery. Why? Because we have A and C. When 13 is in the middle of 12 and 14. This is important. As you know because many of we Buddhist always say. If you have to blame. oh. By accepting that. Actually. all of them basically stem from clinging to the self. even if you are going through the most depressing time. Okay. Where does all these pain come from? Not only the gross pains such as headache and stomachache. therefore clinging to the self is wrong. I should tell you. You can debate with him. Every mindstream or emotion that is directly or indirectly involved with clinging to the self leads to pain. Even if somebody is wishing you long life. But again. plank. Basically. he didn't discover that evil self. That's a simple truth. All our emotions such as love. Our mind shifts through. Therefore clinging to the self is wrong.
. What is it? What is the fundamental cause of this pain? He never come out with answer like oh. go back to our first question: Why Buddhism? We can have a really good. you already know this trick. I don't know if you have this expression in Chinese: "Time heals". the second view is nothing religious. Like this table. He didn't say that. We all judge it very ethically or very religiously. And how do you do that? By understanding all compounding things are impermanent. All his teachings are very practical. But According to him. I'm so egoist. table leg. hatred. We hear a lot of Buddhism teaching about selflessness. So again here. you have to blame this habit of clinging to the self. these tools to contemplate on the selflessness have unfortunately become very religious. When Prince Siddhartha was contemplating on how to really seek and search the truth. we like blaming someone. Why? You can always argue this with Siddhartha. long-lasting. but not the impermanence. All of them. Because we as human being. That's why we suffer. But I'll show you a trick. According this second view. yes there is an evil force from outside of galaxy. not a single thing exempt. Most of us are very uncertain like right after this. But a breakthrough discovery of dietary system of a deer might help a few deer. Or on the other side. he found there is no self. there is none to blame. How would you read this? You read twelve. we get so caught by the rituals. By the way. He can do a fantastic research on those. But when 13 is in the middle of A and C. He was very practical. Then thirteen will become B. the human pains are not getting what we want. all these put together. the same thing I fold it differently. unfortunately. It's not that Buddha found that the self is evil. I'm selfish. This is something good. Now the second view. basically.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views As I said before. If I show you this. No external existing evil being created pains to us. Now. thirteen and fourteen. Probably. unfortunately. He really wants to get to the bottom of all the problems. But I want to tell you something here. I'm sure he has the wit and intellect to do a research on what the neighboring deer eat or elephants eat when he was meditating. He said that actually everything is conditioned. And having to live with this uncertainty all the time.1 is: Not understanding that all the compounded are impermanent. As I was saying. ten thousand years. then it becomes something. then it becomes a table. It invaded us. jealousy. the so-called ignorance is self-clinging and is you are looking at something that is actually several components putting together then you think it's something. and cheap fun. portable. Never you should take that on the face of that. Then he discovered it is clinging to the self. will we see our friends and loved ones? We are not sure. He never said therefore clinging to the self lead you to pains. I would say. That's all about it. It is not that at all. Things put together.
yes. This is ridiculous actually. This is a very big subject in Buddhism study. It is very big. you are looking at several components put together. isn't it? That is important. We'd like to have a savior. it becomes a bed. Diamond Sutra is something that is very popular in Chinese culture. There's no one mentioned charcoal like Buddha. we talk about Buddha. you want to make them 5
. This is basically the second view. Form. Because we like gold. ethics is taught a lot. There is no other Buddha than the truth. and a blanket and a pillow here. So now. It is all related to we love them because we love ourselves. on the larger scale. and we think it is the self. The whole path. This is what you are clinging at. But again. the complicated path has been taught by Buddha himself. As I said before. Environment. And Buddha said. Basically. we destroyed our own world. power. You will do anything to lead him to the truth. The truth that we have been talking about. On the smaller scale. The truth has no color. Of course it is very difficult to understand this. as simple as it sound.. Everything. If there is no self there is no economy. several components put together. Then we built a lot of hideout so that the self will be comfortable.. Basically. Because we want to put them on the shelf. There is nothing really religious about this. Because there is no insecurity. You want really to give this person the cause of happiness. That's relatively a new habit. No eyes. For the Buddhist. Everything is basically you put together and then it is functioning as something. And they have people teaching us what we don't have and what we should have. color and all these. insured and powerful. there is no business. If I chop it into pieces and put it in the kitchen. he thought the so-called self is exactly 13 and B.there Buddha said: Those who see me in form is a wrong view. So what do we do? Basically there are several components put together. Emptiness is form. lead him to the cause of happiness. I'm trying to talk about Buddha's compassion. even between the friends and the family. we say we love them. A savior. itself is the Buddha. the market will crash. Why? Because it's an old habit. No nose. There is a full subject such as Vinaya. But in Buddhism. no shape. But clinging to the self is a very old habit. Firewood I get. Someone to pray to when all the options run out. But somehow we just make people to get attracted to this truth. Every one of us. So the compassion is like this. you come up with this idea of self. No ears. Someone to blame to. if there is no insecurity. influence and friendship. the gunpoint. Because you didn't hold a cigarette when you were born. If I put a bed sheet here. it is very difficult to combat with this self-clinging. it's not bronze-made. so that anytime you want. right? I don't know much about business.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views everything is basically like this 13 or B. Even to quit smoking is difficult. feeling. you can use them. We are talking about golden Buddha. Maybe some of you remember. This is where like money. which can be changed if another component is put together. But all of them they are designed to understand the truth. Nothing ethical. If what Buddha said works and if a lot of people actually practice combating the self. which totally does not exist at all. But it looks like this is the quintessence of business. But even if you look at the marks of the Buddha you really understand why this is just yet another skillful means. I'm sure many of you know Heart Sutra. To make this non-existing self more comfortable and more insured and on the process of trying to make this non-existing self comfortable. Buddha's marks are not true. you would say the sky is red. Form is emptiness. You must know that. If you love someone. you want to really make this someone to be happy. according to the Buddha.
out of these four. you will die some day. Let's say. Especially the third one. All that kind of things. Then lead you to the truth. you come out from the lotus bud and all that. So it is very difficult for me to present these two views. The last one. I've failed. I would say. But you see. the first two truths that we discussed yesterday that all compounded things are impermanent and all emotions coming from ego are pain. would you really seriously date with someone like that? Would you proudly show your boyfriend who with completely golden color to your normal friends? Or ears hanging to shoulder. So in order to deliver the truth. even the mouth of the Buddha is not good enough. These two are very difficult. they even painted
. For centuries. Everything is emptiness. I was in India 3 days ago. it is very difficult to discuss. If you go to Tibetan monasteries. the Buddhists have tried to make it very attractive. You can't really go to the couple and say. we have a saying like. if they are authentic. masters and saints all had tried to explain it. even the Buddha's qualities like the golden color that we Buddhists are so proud of. you are bound by compounded phenomena. There are some people who like coral. Even on the general level. out of the four truths. the nirvana. if it is really an authentic method. the thing it is. Nothing. Because as long as you are bound by color. and actually it had sort of worked. So all these Buddhists' symbols. So there is Amitabha Buddha with coral color. So maybe about 10 minutes for your questions. It's quite vast. The ultimate truth as what Prof. which we will discuss tomorrow. the lotus is blooming. even today the ultimate truth can not be expressed is already an expression. the third is the most important. It's very difficult for me to put it in a very short time. no shape.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views understand the truth. in order to allure us to the right view. in order to express the ultimate truth. your computer does not need to be updated. These two truths. Or the ears long enough to touch the shoulder. Even in the Buddhism Sutra. it should all have an element of bringing you to the truth. you have to make the truth attractive. But the third one. Nirvana. the moment I speak. There are two more truth out of four Seals of Dharma. If you look carefully at these methods. This is when the Buddhists begin to paint the Buddha with gold. For example. Remembering yesterday we talked about. shape. they are designed to attract you. But yet it is the most important. Today we are going to talk about the two remaining truths. Actually. Especially this couple I've never seen them before. I mean think. For centuries. therefore many times you will fight and disagree with each other. like the other day. It became much more elaborate later. These two are actually the relative truths. These two remained are what we call the ultimate truths. Not attractive at all. there are actually some people who like blue color. then we have blue Buddha. And also you two are human beings. They sang songs about it. I attended a elaborate wedding. a very happy place forever. we have to make the truth attractive. Western Land. the truth is bitter. very difficult to make them attractive for the human mind. Yet the truth has no color. the emptiness. Sharf said yesterday.
We human being always like to ask these questions: what is really there? Okay. even today.. But When they are in places like Beijing. They use Tantra as an excuse also. you know. Remembering as I said yesterday? All these tools are just tools. And I want to really emphasize this because many times we end up with falling in love with these tools. empty of beauty and ugly. it becomes different. What you see is not what it is. They are not the actual truth. in Tibet. transcending the common sense. So they can eat meat. This is why I thought it is very interesting and important what Prof. It represents the emptiness. You know. So everything that appears is not what it is. It's a very. Because maybe Chinese are very practical people. let's go back to the third view. Because their culture has taught them to value common sense. a life that led with a begging and wander. Just trying to tease you so that you maybe become a little bit agitated with me. we still have this old habit. naked Buddha. The Chinese value common sense. you have to realize that most of other people would think they are ugly. Because with these information we will be guarded from the misunderstanding. But okay. These are important for specially academic students to know. This is funny. what they call the right livelihood. Because as Buddhism travels to different places. so we can eat meat. The sky color again cross to the emptiness. Now in place like India. also the culture habit. But I think because the king actually thought monks can only wear either red or yellow. Sharf said yesterday afternoon. My translator told me that in china when Buddhism was introduced in the beginning. No ornament.. Oh…we are Tantra practitioners.(Hindi). In Tibet. So they must ask what is really there. why I'm telling you this is because of that the Buddhism also has to adapt. the technique/the tools have to be changed. if a monk wears blue. They still say. I think that's probably the best thing I could do right now. India? No common sense. Anyway. there are so many vegetables. Let me tease you a little bit. how it appears is not
. Like the Tibetan Mahayana. they shouldn't really eat meat. You have to earn. They are the people with a lot of common sense. the Tibetans will just condemn it. They call it . The Tibetan Buddhists are Mahayana Buddhists. That's why it became like that. I don't know if you have ever seen a blue. Okay. the Chinese couldn't really accept the whole Vinaya kind of phenomena that all believed in India. Because the begging bowl. I was shocking to realize one of the greatest influence in Japanese Buddhism probably has a little bit of Christian influence. They consider it a very good life. That is shocking. The beauty or the ugly is not there. It's a very honorable life. The things like these culture influences. As the Buddhism is traveling. Common sense is very much about this life. Stuff like reincarnation (Next life). And many times. So They should really eat vegetables. Because actually the Buddha allows monks to wear blue. If you see your boyfriend or girlfriend is very handsome or beautiful. So it is really important for academic students to know these things. that's emptiness. Now to speak in very layperson's language: the emptiness. actually it becomes a little bit bad also.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views emptiness. The blue color represents the sky. Because they value wisdom. not necessarily by practitioners. they think the begging is not the right thing to do. maybe nothing grows. you know. it's nothing to do with the common sense.
there's a change. this is from a Buddha Sutra. okay. that's the best way! And this can come in the form of many things. You could put everything like this. you could put it like this. what is there? This habit of needing something there is very difficult to break. again. I think Xuanzang really liked this. Now for some Mahayana. These are probably the best thing I could do to really talk emptiness with very layperson's language. Then the higher way: reasoning. you found with the candle light your boyfriend is good looking. She is very happy. Because of that. especially the Vajrayana. They don't exist. they said nothing exists. it is something that can be experienced through examples. And that's probably what Mahayana people mostly do. I always give this example. like the flowers. what is that? There is a convenient way to say the Buddha nature is a name given to what they called the result of elimination. even the Buddha indicated many times in many other Sutras. But even though it is something not expressible. who is this? You see. both that happiness and unhappiness have no reference. if you have a master who can point out directly the experience of this emptiness. That's not a good understanding of nirvana. They have a height ranking. Nirvana in our head is something like you will get it after a long long time. which is very much related to China. even you yourself. Go back to the beauty and ugly. The lowest. then they say. all my Chinese friends love Buddha nature. Because the ugliness is the truth. which is like what we've talked about the beauty and ugliness. In the evening. So in that case. She dreamed that she actually got pregnant and gave birth. Anyway. That is the emptiness for now. the common sense is moving in here. You see. That's the lowest way. If you do something. Then if you ask. And the space is occupied by ugliness. at the end of Diamond Sutra.) And actually even Nagarjuna said. When all extreme is exhausted. There is a girl dreaming and really longing for a child. Let me give you an example. that is wonderful. (The elimination of dualism—Rinpoche said this in the 2nd lecture. Nirvana is the fourth truth. like magic. I'm not talking about other people. The Nagarjuna people like the Indians. Also. I think the Zen people have Koans. Then other people would never think he is handsome. We need them. But in the morning when you waked up. When she waked up. Nirvana is beyond extreme. such as Lankavatara Sutra. the Buddha nature. Something like a heaven. This change can't take place if the ugliness really does exist outside. so the Buddha nature is good. Because I 8
. conclusion: what you see or how it appears is not what it is. the child died. Not because of my compassion that really drives me to samsara and help people. really ugly. like a dream. the Western Land and all that. Because Buddha said. There are three basic experiences. So much so. examples. The Amitabha Sutra has many descriptions about the lotus land. If you are asking me that do you really want enlightenment? I don't think so. because we already have painted a lot of these pictures. In the same dream. I'll give you this now. She is free from these two extremes. They are very important. Nothing to do with that. there is a beginning point. what Buddha said about Buddha nature. Next is nirvana. But this is difficult as I said before. She is unhappy. that's the experience of nirvana.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views what it is. Because I want to watch the World Cup and enjoy it. If your boyfriend is really ugly.
If you have jaundice. You are seeing at a yellow conch because you have jaundice. Now in the Vajrayana. The reason why I say this is exactly why we talked about the conch.""I'm 9
. we are looking for an enlightenment that is partially omniscient. The Tibetan master asked this Hindu master. without Hinayana. In fact. after a few years of mediation. you don't even have to watch the movie. you know what will happen right from the beginning. By the way.Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views want to read suspense books and see mystery movies. let's say. I'm going to Tibet to teach Buddhism. I mean even the smallest obsession. or my third eye is about to burst out. no present. wow…this is just beyond me. oh. The reason why I want to tell you this is because Vajrayana has rituals. They met on the road. and you are looking at a conch. I'm telling you this is because I want to paint a picture of enlightenment. I would say it's a small enlightenment. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you a little bit Vajrayana. I am him or her! But this has been misused a lot. let's say you are someone who need to iron your underwear every night. maybe your underwear haven't washed for two years. usually. and no future. you think that doesn't matter. They don't emphasize all these. which also actually means omniscience. You should eat medicine and get rid of that yellow conch. like enough to read your lover's diary or the like. Your idea of yellow conch is wrong. everything. they say it's a quick path. What I want to say is. I know the Vajrayana is very ***y in some places. "But you are Hindu. It's not good. And rightfully so. But after years of meditation. On the way in Nepal. Before I close. Then think. training your mind everyday. there is no Vajrayana. you see it's yellow. All rituals involve deity. So the whole next World Cup. Without these two. they say. because you are so obsessed with cleanness and tidiness. you begin to think it's white. You are looking at a conch. they say it's because you bypass this thinking of yellow conch is wrong. I'd like to really mention this. Let's say. The extreme of time is gone. Immediately. The tip of Buddha's head. If you watch mystery movie. Now. That is amazing! That is equal to ushnisha. I'd like to really tell you. or I had a good dream. think and think it's white. I should eat medicine. Mahayana and Hinayana. the results of play I know instantly. A classical example. so I can get rid of the yellow conch. People always recognized these sensations like. you don't have much that kind of hang-ups. a few minutes of meditation everyday. A Hindu master was going in. Because it is white. How I can do that? You should not be discouraged like this. you should eat this medicine. I do know you would think. my forehead is itchy. a Hindu master was going inside to Tibet. beyond time and beyond space. They think it is Hinduism. they don't believe Vajrayana is Buddhism. All the deities from your self-reflection are like six-armed and stuff like that. Instead thinking I will become him. A Tibetan master was going out. Do you know what happened when you get enlightenment? There is no time. That's not fun. This Tibetan master was going to India. there is no Mahayana. If you can really pursuit a path. The result of practice is when you began to have a little bit of shift. The reason why it's a quick path. Because what we've been talking about is basically the common ground for both Vajrayana and Mahayana. or get really depressed if someone criticizes you a little bit. That's what we are going to look for. Because this is disgrace. Vajrayana is Mahayana. This is doable. Especially the Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism is under scrutiny of many scholars. No fun again. where are you going? The Hindu master said. Please don't speak about that. look. many Hinayana and some Mahayana. I forget the name of this master. There is no past. Let's say you are someone who gets so stuffed up when somebody is praising you. Many people forgot its danger also. I want to present you how Mahayana and Vajrayana deal with this.
That kind of retreat is the best. when he heard XXX died in India. I'd like to give you this. He cried. His disciple asked him. out of my cave. Basically you are supposed to creat a boundary." Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views 比如.
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche talk transcript at Beijing University on Buddhist Views 刚乘).
