2011 in Review z
What were they thinking? I’m just a baby! After I started feeling better, we moved! Just when I was getting used to things. We packed up a pretty yellow truck full of my toys, blankets and my doll baby. And a bunch of other unimportant stuff...and then we drove a long way, and unloaded the truck in a new house. Weird. Not sure why we did it but I have heard Mommy and Daddy say something about “God’s will” and “sharing the gospel” and “ministering to families in Kansas City.” Not sure what all of that means, but I bet they’ll teach me someday. They talk a lot about God, and how they want to tell everyone they can about him. He sounds exciting. I think I want to know about him, too. Someday, I’m sure. I’ve got lots to learn! After we moved and Mommy decorated the house all pretty, it was

Written by Grace, our 1 year old philosopher Daddy and Mommy have been so busy with what they call “ministry” lately, that I decided to write the 2011 year end prayer letter. Not really sure what prayer is, but I know Daddy and Mommy do it a lot. I think it must be kind of like peekaboo because everybody closes their eyes, and talks kind of quiet. I’ll bet they will teach me all about it someday. Can’t wait! I love new adventures. I’ve already been on a bunch of them, and I’m only 1 year old! This last year was just full of adventures! It started out awful. I was in pain all of the time, and I cried. A lot. And when baby Grace isn’t happy...ain’t nobody happy! When I was born, I came out crooked, and my Mommy and Daddy had to hold me. A lot. Day and night. Because I just kept crying. I went to really nice people called “doctors.” A lot. They helped me feel better except they jabbed me with those stupid needles! OW!

We thank God in our every remembrance of you. Your financial giving keeps us here in Kansas City bringing the gospel to marriages and families, and your prayer support keeps us going each and every day. We are blessed beyond measure to have you on our team.

SUMMER

summertime! We planted a garden (and I got to play in the dirt!), got some kittens (I got to pull their tails. A lot!), and Josiah and Ethan and Emma bought some chickens (I tried to pull their tails, but they just ran away! Rude.) We drove in the car. Way too much. It made my back hurt so of course I cried. A lot. But we saw pretty mountains, and I met a lot of people who pinched my cheeks (which I didn’t like at all) and paid attention to me (which I did like very much). As we drove around, Daddy and Mommy talked a lot about “asking people to support us” which I think means that nice people send us something called money so that Daddy and Mommy can tell people about somebody called Jesus. I know that my parents love people, and if they love people half as much as they love me, let me tell ya. That’s a lot of love, folks!

Daddy and Mommy started getting really busy, and the hot weather started cooling down some. We have had lots of people in our home. Nice people. From all over, even places like Burma, Nepal, and Thailand. I really need to learn how to use a map so I know where these places are! In fact, the Burmese people are really nice, and one of the families had a little boy almost my size! We played together. He is my new friend! Daddy loves the Burma people, too. One night, I heard that Daddy went to their house, and told them all about God for over 3 hours! That’s almost as long as my nap time! Daddy told me that several of the Burmese now believe in God, and that Daddy is going to teach them how to love each other, and have good, strong families that love God. I hope so because everybody should have a family like that. My parents have been gone a lot too which is okay because then I get to spend time with Grandma! I sure do love her, and I’m so glad she is living with us in our house. I get sooo excited when I see her. Just can’t help it. She spends time with me while Daddy and Mommy go meet with people. Lots of people. There sure must be a lot of people who need to hear about God. I hope they all believe in him real soon.

FALL

It’s getting cold here again, which means I can’t play in the sandbox outside anymore. That’s just the pits! But, the cold hasn’t stopped my parents. In fact, this week they are headed to Wichita (no idea where that is! I need to find a map, I think!) to go do more “ministry”. That’s what they call it, but I know it’s their way of saying that they are going to go love people and tell people about Jesus. After all, that is really what my Daddy and Mommy do best. They love other people. And I know they love each of you, too. As Daddy and Mommy say...Thank you for being on our team.

WINTER

At this point, I think my Daddy would say, “We have lost some financial support this last year. Would you consider giving a special one time gift before the end of the year? Your gift will help us stay right here in Kansas City, sharing the gospel with those who need to hear it. God has opened so many doors for us since we moved here in May. We see His hand at work! Together, with your support, we can continue to walk through these doors, and make an eternal difference here in Kansas City. If God leads you to give in any way and any amount, you can mail it to us, and please make the check out to Campus Crusade for Christ. Or, if online giving is your preference, you can do so at http://give.ccci.org/give/0613754 We love each of you, and are blessed to have you in our lives. May God richly bless you above that which we can think or imagine!”
