This newspaper has learned from Pentagon insiders that the United States is now repositioning troops, special forces and armored tank units inside Jordans border within 10-15 kilometers of Syrian army units. The move is part of a coordinated effort between Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France and the United States. It is designed to halt any plans by Syrias dictator Bashar Assad to carry out his public threat to attack Jordan and set the region aflame if his country is the subject of military intervention by NATO or any other nation. Were pulling out of Iraq, but were not leaving the Middle East, said the Pentagon sources requesting anonymity because they are not authorized to officially speak on record. Our troops have already been deployed to al-Mafrag, at the air base there named after King Hussein. Were also deploying military personnel in al-Nahdah, Zubaydiah, Albaej, al-Houshah, and were protecting vital infrastructure assets. Were also assisting in patrolling the natural borders where some weak spots exist, says Pentagon insiders. Last week, Syrian tanks started massing near Jordans border at Bura Al Hariri. In response, the United States has moved some of its military assets from Ain al-Assad air base in Iraq. The repositioning actually started last week, you guys in the press are just starting to learn about it. Theres been no official announcement, but its true. You can check, they further reveal. This newspaper has confirmed that this information is true. This reporter has also learned that in response to the U.S. countermove, Syria has also deployed in broad

daylight, nearly two dozen missile launchers near its northern border with Turkey in the region of its Hatai district. The mobile missile launchers were driven into place during peak visibility hours as a show of force by Assad as he continues his defiant stance and refuses to heed international calls for him to step down. At least six of them are of the SCUD D variety, an improved version of the SCUD B missile and contain chemical weapons warheads. Syria has the largest arsenal chemical weapons in the Middle East and has threatened to use them. During the past six months, more than 5,000 people have been killed by Assads troops, with especially fierce fighting in the city of Hama. Just a few days ago, Syrian military defectors killed 27 of Assads forces. In its northern border region with Syria, nearly 20,000 defectors and refugees from Assads regime are being protected by Turkey. Led by Colonel Riad al-Assad, (no relation to Bashar Assad), his Free Syria Army has led several successful attacks against the regimes key military and intelligence assets, striking with impunity. 1.0v1 Dec 17, 2011 Kal K.
