they departed into their own country another way.’ This idea and symbolism of bells at Christmas ties back to an old Ukrainian legend that was the basis for the famous ‘Carol of the Bells. Santa’s Sleigh bells.’ Folklore has it that on midnight when Christ was born. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod. You have silver bells. every bell in the world chimed in celebration. and ‘Christmas Bells are Ringing. and mistletoe… So many of these things have lost their original meaning.’ Bells and Christmas go back a long way and that is why the choir is performing ‘I heard the Bells on Christmas Day.
