“The A-Frame table was inspired by various French industrial pieces. I built this as a dining table but noticed it would work great as a desk. The original A-Frame design is built of heavy gauge steel and 2 tubular cross braces with bolting ends. The solid top is made of 2″ x 12″ aged sugar pine.”

The People Series
We spotted Nichole’s work while browsing Etsy photos to pair with picture frames for this edition. Lucky for us she moved to Paris in early 2009 to start her Paris Color Project.
Her “Light” series from Paris is fantastic. Her book, “Paris in Spring” is being published later this spring. Nichole is also a freelance copy writer with clients such as Real Simple and Estee Lauder.

The People Series = Individuals doing fantastic work deserving of your attention
SMALL SALVAGED SCRAPS OF FABRIC ARE JOINED TOGETHER TO MAKE LARGER PIECES CALLED BLOCKS, WHICH COME TOGETHER TO MAKE A QUILT.
Quilts were often given or made to mark special life events such as weddings, the birth of a child, leaving home, or a graduation. What a wonderful tradition to begin or continue. These examples represent some of our favorites from Etsy sellers. A great eclectic look to add color and personality to a bedroom and, more importantly, to an event. 14
QUILTS ARE STILL MADE FOR FUNDRAISING FOR SUCH THINGS AS NATURAL DISASTERS AND IMPORTANT CHARITABLE CAUSES.
The right equipment to sign the important document… pen the loving letter.
$55 Depending on the age and model, a fountain pen will employ either a filler mechanism that sucks ink through the nib, or use replaceable ink cartridges. In very old models, an eye dropper may be required to fill the reservoir. While one imagines fountain pens when thinking of fine writing instruments, there are beautiful pens which use the more standard roller ball system. It’s common to find matching mechanical pencils for either pen type.
In this case rather English, I’d say. The sterling set to the left is vintage 1884 Victorian. Highly collectable. More often than not, fine china comes to mind – such as the Bristol blue example above. Such fun.
From the Kettle to the Fire
Don’t miss the teapot tradition. We’re all too quick to heat water in the microwave, toss in a bag and go. Learn to slow down. Share your thoughts over a cup of tea.
CALL THEM WHAT YOU WILL… LET’S JUST AGREE THAT THESE ARE THE SPECIAL THINGS – SOMETIMES THE CURIOUS THINGS YOU CHOOSE TO ADD CHARACTER TO YOUR HOME.
