Useful notes for the candidate: The Commis Chef, job position you are applying for in the kitchen is a junior and humble one and is the first step into the world of kitchens. Make sure you have researched well about the establishment and have a rough idea about the nature of business and clients. Have an updated C.V.on hand. A Commis chef's resume should include skills, experience, job history and areas of specialty. Know what is mentioned in your C.V. Ideally, keep your C.V. to one page for easy viewing and simplicity. Be positive and focused on the task in hand. If you had a previous job and a bad experience, never bad mouth your previous employer, and give positive feedbacks. Why should we hire you is a question where is your chance to show the interviewer how engaged and interested you are in the company and come up with unique answers. Never overpromise and under deliver. List your strengths relating to cooking very humbly and be very careful and rather positive about your weaknesses.

Qualities that I look for in a Commis Chef:
Team Player Attitude towards work and colleagues Punctuality Eagerness to learn Positivity Stability Confidence and Body Language Dressing sense Eye Contact

Always keep your knives to yourself.
