All over the world, passionate hunters and those who are inspired by nature equate the name ZEISS with highperformance optics that remain reliable even under extreme use. The visual experience perfected by Carl Zeiss, blends innovative functions with detailed workmanship.

Sustained Values
Evolution of the Lens
Every optical system from Carl Zeiss combines the broadest spectrum of amazing innovations: their scientific expertise and technological implementation are as inspiring as the visual power they produce. Carl Zeiss has taken the calculation of lenses to the next level. The development of new types of glass and coatings has enabled optical systems to achieve an even greater resolution and brightness. At an early stage all glass types containing lead and arsenic were replaced by environmentally friendly ones. Lenses are also continually becoming lighter and slimmer. Today, the FL concept by Carl Zeiss is at the peak of this development.

Amazing Brilliance
For a long time, the image quality of optical units suffered from the fact that the lens only allowed part of the incidental light to reach the eye and scattered the other part back in the form of reflections. This was the case until the 1930s, when a scientist from Carl Zeiss coated the outside surface with a layer of metal fluorides. Carl Zeiss was the first optics manufacturer to coat lenses and thereby minimise stray light and disturbing reflections. The coating process also helped to considerably increase the light transmission and image brightness at twilight. ZEISS optics transmit a crystal clear image that is unrivalled right up to the last light of day.

Durable Companions
When used outdoors, rough handling of the optical device must always be expected. Carl Zeiss lens systems are designed for strenuous use. The same applies to the body and non-sensitive surfaces. Furthermore, nearly every unit in the new generation is filled with nitrogen to eliminate fogging. ZEISS binoculars and spotting scopes are lightweight, compact and extremely durable. Their long life and resilient performance make them very reliable companions.

Skilled Craftsmanship and Optical Harmony

It is the emotional factors which extend the value of ZEISS optics far beyond the technical specifications. Perfected ergonomics, design elegance and comfortable handling make comfort a visible and tangible experience. Surfaces are easy to grip wherever secure hand contact is required. The superior workmanship can be felt in the smooth and high-precision operating elements. To ensure this fine-tuned quality, much of the final assembly is completed by hand.

Nature is a fascinating system. In a sustained process of optimization, it has shown capabilities we can only admire or in fact try to imitate.

Lets take the lotus leaf, for instance, which instantly repels water drops avoiding smudges on the surface.

Protective Layer for Clear Vision

T he LotuTec coating
Clear Vision at All Times As with the surface of the lotus leaf, the LotuTec coating on objective and ocular lenses ensures that the water is repelled immediately and without residue. Thus dirt, grease and fingerprints can easily be removed with no risk of damaging the high quality lens. Maintaining optical devices with LotuTec is extremely effortless. Brilliant Viewing in all Weather Conditions Carl Zeiss has brought the experience of an impeccable view to perfection regardless of the weather. Even in heavy rain LotuTec coating guarantees a perfect vision.
All products of the Victory line feature the LotuTec lens coating.

With LotuTec Without LotuTec

As with most leaves, moisture and dirt particles concentrate on the surface of the lens. They connect with the texture and broadly cover the surface. Imitating the lotus leaf protection, ZEISS LotuTec lenses repel water drops. Dirt and smears wipe off easily. Neither water nor dirt sticks to the surface.

The fine Varipoint dot in the second image plane supports accurate aiming with minimum target coverage.

Flexible as Never Before

Operating the V69

The combined switch and control button, which is known from all Varipoint illuminated reticles, is pulled out as usual to activate the illuminated reticle. By twisting the button, the illumination intensity is adjusted and the preferred reticle type dot or cross is selected.

Unsurpassed when hunting in daylight: The fine Varipoint dot in the second image plane supports rapid shooting. With a small maginification, the crosshair in the first image plane is minimised, thus covering less of the target.

Flexible when hunting at night: The hunter has the choice of illuminated dot or cross. The constant measurements of target coverage when aiming with the illuminated cross allow the hunter to estimate the shooting distance.

Focusing on the Target

A More Relaxed Shooting Preparation Before the decision to shoot is made, various factors have to be balanced in a quite short period of time: Can the game be shot? Is it the correct target butt? And so forth. High demands and a

lot of pressure usually dominate the situation. With iC, operation process of rifle and riflescope merge before the shot, thus supporting both concentration on the target and relaxation of the body. Movement behind the rifle which is particularly crucial when shooting at short target distances is reduced to a minimum.

High-Performance Optics with Non-Il luminated Reticles, Il luminated Reticles for Twilight Use or Bal listic Reticles and Paral lax Compensation

The FL concept stands for brilliant images without chromatic aberrations.

Leading-Edge LongRange Hunting Optics

Outstanding imaging performance, maximum precision and aiming accuracy the riflescope line by Carl Zeiss is tailored to long-range hunting and shooting. The riflescopes enable experienced hunters and long-range shooters to see their target at maximum magnification with razor-sharp details and to sight it with utmost precision.

Innovative Ballistic Concepts

The two ballistic concepts developed by Carl Zeiss ASV (Bullet Drop Compensation feature) and RAPID-Z allow for accurate aiming on changing and extremely long distances: The ASV provides accurate target shots whereas the RAPID-Z reticle features indexed holdover lines to compensate long distances.

Minimum Target Coverage

The reticle of the Victory FL Diavari riflescopes is on the second image plane. It remains constant throughout the whole magnification range providing minimum target coverage with high magnifications and over long shooting distances, thus supporting accurate target shots.

Getting Closer to the Perfect Shot
Thanks to the indexed holdover lines optimum readability is provided even in stressful situations. By changing the magnification, the reticle can be adjusted to different ballistic data. These unique characteristics have revolutionised shooting, turning RAPID-Z into a worldwide unique concept. The patented ballistic reticle RAPID-Z developed by Carl Zeiss allows for accurate aiming via the corresponding holdover line even on long distance shots. The hunter just needs to measure the distance without using ballistic charts or rough calculations.

Enhancing Flexibility
Adjustability to All Common Hunting Loads By changing the magnification, the reticle adjusts to all common loads and specific rifle characteristics. When switching the ammunition, the magnification simply needs to be reset. The holdover lines of the RAPID-Z reticle are calculated according to the ballistic correction values of the most rapid and common cartridge loads with the RAPID-Z5 in the highest magnification factor sighted-in at 100 metres, with the RAPID-Z7 in the magnification factor of 18 x sighted-in at 200 metres. A chart on the exact classification of magnification factors can be found at www.zeiss.de/rapid-z

Gaining Clarity
Good Readability and Visibility in Any Conditions The entire target area of the crosshair is illuminated, providing very good visibility even in the most adverse lighting conditions and when facing a dark target area. The indexed holdover lines ensure good readability in decisive moments and stressful situations.

It takes a great deal of driven hunt experience to spot moving game and react with lightning speed. The better the sighting equipment, the more accurately the hunter will be when firing shots in quick succession.

Three mounting options of the Compact-Point are possible: 1. ZEISS plate with universal adapter e.g. for pivot mount, 2. Blaser R93 with the integrated MAKnetic mount allows for Compact-Point to be mounted directly on the barrel, without using an adapter, 3. Standard with integrated clamp mount which can be mounted directly on a Picatinny/Weaver.

Safe Shooting over Long Distances

Accurate Aiming
Precise Adjustment of the Shooting Distance Holding over with shooting distances exceeding the zeroing range often is based on estimation and makes it difficult to ac-

curately hit the target. Aiming exactly at the point where the shot is supposed to hit the target results in the most accurate shot. Thus the ASV provides maximum accuracy even over longer distances.
300 m shot without ASV 300 m shot with ASV

Operating the ASV is particularly easy and quick. The handy ASV ring is positioned on top of the riflescopes turret. The desired position is adjusted by pulling out the ring and twisting it with precise clicks. Depending on the riflescope model, every click changes the elevation adjustment of the target point by one centimetre on 100 metres. Once the hunter wants to shoot the regular distance again, the ASV can simply be returned to zero thanks to the locking mechanism he can do this blindly.

The ASV is adjusted by pulling out, twisting and pushing down the ASV ring. Thanks to the secure locking of the ring, the ASV is protected against unintentional adjustment.

40

Controlled shooting with every load even over long distances: The Bullet Drop Compensation (ASV) feature by Carl Zeiss offers the possibility to exactly adjust the target distance quickly and easily, immediately before the shot. The ASV is an important tool for those shooting regularly on long ranges. It is also especially helpful to hunters preferring full-metal jacket ammunition.

Individual Scaling
The Correct ASV Strip for Every Load With every riflescope featuring the ASV, two sets of five ASV strips with different scaling are included. Thus, the ASV covers all popular hunting calibres. Based on the ballistic data of the used loads, the corresponding ASV strip is selected from the chart on page 42. It is then mounted on the ASV ring by your qualified dealer. Your Carl Zeiss dealer will also provide comprehensive advice on the correct ASV strip and the retrofitting of riflescopes. The engraved scaling of the ring is subdivided into 65 clicks. 1 click corresponds to 1 cm on 100 m. Every tenth dash is marked with a number from 10 to 60.

Retrofitting
Retrofitting ZEISS Riflescopes with the ASV All riflescopes from the Victory and Classic ranges can be retrofitted with the ASV feature in the Carl Zeiss factory. If you would like to retrofit a riflescope with the ASV, please send it to your qualified dealer who will forward it to the Carl Zeiss Sports Optics customer service.

The five included ASV strips are subdivided into 50 metre increments from 100 to 300 metres and 25 metre increments from 300 to 400 metres. ASV strip selection see chart on page 42.

Comfortable Eyepiece ZEISS binoculars provide an exceptionally large field of view for observers with or without glasses. The soft, comfortable eye cups can be unscrewed and locked in safely. Intermediate settings lock securely. Once locked, they cannot be pushed in accidentally.

ZEISS Binoculars

Practical Strength
Light, Robust and Waterproof The housing of the binoculars consists of light aluminium and reinforced high-performance polyamide, 60 % of which is glass fibre, making the body extremely impact resistant. The waterproof and dustproof design, combined with the nitrogen filling that eliminates fogging on the inside, ensures that the binoculars stand up to extreme conditions. The durable rubber armour is shock and noise absorbing. Dirt can easily be removed.
48

Visible Values
High-Quality Production All processes in the making of Carl Zeiss binoculars, from manufacturing and coating the lenses through to production of the optical systems and final mounting, are carried out under strict supervision on Carl Zeiss production sites. This ensures the highest possible level of quality, which is clearly visible and tangible in every product that bears the Carl Zeiss brand name.

Intense Visual Experience

Uncompromising Optics The name ZEISS stands for brilliance, colour fidelity and razorsharp images. Image quality is consistent from edge to edge of the field of view. The intricately finished objectives consist of up to five lens groups. High-quality glass types, which are coated in the Carl Zeiss T* multi-layer coating process, provide transmission values up to and over 90 %. This ensures vivid contrast and image brightness even in poor lighting conditions.
49

The binoculars range from Carl Zeiss covers a wide spectrum of uses and preferences. The guide on this page provides support in decision-making when selecting the appropriate type of binoculars.

Different Perspectives
Selecting the ZEISS Binoculars The Twilight Glass
Lens Diameter from 50 mm on up The right choice for hunters who mainly stalk or stand hunt game when it is most active in the twilight. On long approaches, there is a risk that the weight of this high-performance optics system will be felt. However, with the use of the latest materials and innovative types of glass, the twilight glasses by Carl Zeiss are among the lighter representatives in their class.

Pocket Binoculars
Lens Diameter 20 25 mm These are ideally used as spare binoculars for daytime stalking and can also be carried in a jacket pocket for field work, excursions in the countryside or dog training. The pocket binoculars also bring the observer closer to the action at cultural or sporting events and on trips.

All-Purpose Binoculars
Lens Diameter 40 45 mm For the hunter who is looking for a powerful all-rounder, allpurpose binoculars provide the perfect balance between handy design and high transmission values. They are destined for active hunting in terms of weight and size. At the same time, they provide the best conditions for observation in any light even in twilight.

Compact Binoculars
Lens Diameter 30 35 mm For physically demanding hunting pursuits, when every gram of equipment counts and luggage volume is restricted. Compact binoculars are up to 300 grams lighter than all-purpose
50

binoculars.

Magnification

The first, smaller figure in the model reference specifies the magnification factor. For all-purpose hunting use, a factor of 7 10 x is ideal. The greater the magnification, the better suited the binoculars are for detailed observation over long distances. However, with this, the image steadiness and the size of the field of view are reduced.
Good view, steady image: At 8 x magnification the field of view is wider and shaking is reduced to a minimum. As close as it gets: At 10 x magnification the smallest detail is seen and the image section decreases.

Lens Diameter

The second figure in the model reference specifies the lens diameter. The bigger it is, the brighter the image and twilight performance. Of course, the overall external size and weight of the binoculars increase with large, powerful lenses.

Image brightness fades with daylight: Smaller lenses offer a lower twilight performance.

Image brilliance even at twilight: Large lenses intensify the last daylight and may even be used for observation at nighttime.

All Competences in One Hand

Key Functions Combined for the First Time
1. High-Performance Optics 2. Laser Rangefinder 3. Ballistic Information System BIS Carl Zeiss rangefinders provide hunters with all capacities relevant to success. Both the RF, also popular as premium binoculars, as well as the monocular PRF feature three key functions in a compact unit: powerful optical performance, precise

rangefinding and determination of the correct holdover point.

Aim, Measure, Shoot

A Quick Succession of Precise Reactions The rangefinder concept by Carl Zeiss forms a unique combination of speed and accuracy: when pressing the rangefinder button the reticle lights up so that the target can be sighted. After releasing the button, measuring is effected. The measured distance is displayed in the field of view of the optics by a selfilluminating LED display. When holding the rangefinder button down for more than 3 seconds, scan mode is activated autoAfter the distance is displayed, H 23 appears. The hunter must aim 23 cm over the aiming point on the target.

matically allowing for continuous measurements with moving targets.

54

The

Rangefinder Range
rangefinder measures the distance to target in a split second. Moments later, the Ballistic Information System (BIS) provides another critical information for accurate shooting: the exact holdover value. With the Victory RF binoculars, Carl Zeiss has once again set the new standard in high-performance hunting optics.

For the first time in the history of powerful optics, a state-of-the-art laser rangefinder and Ballistic Information System (BIS) have been integrated into one highperformance instrument. The Victory RFs advanced optical system offers bright, crystal clear images. Push the measuring button once, and the extremely fast laser

Victory 8 x 26 T* PRF

Perfectly Complementing the Equipment This laser rangefinder comes in a compact monocular. Until the last daylight is fading, its 8 x magnification and the 26mm lens provide bright images even over long distances. The smallest and particularly lightweight rangefinder model is a solid companion in open terrain and unfamiliar surroundings.

T* multi-layer coating provide an excellent imaging performance even in twilight. The 8 x to 10 x magnification is perfectly suitable for the most popular observation distances.

Victory 8 /10 x 56 T* RF

Observing until the Last Daylight Fades The rangefinder family is now complemented by the new Victory 8 x 56 T* RF and 10 x 56 T* RF. The four lens high-performance objectives with fluoride glasses provide extremely bright, high-contrast and crystal clear images, even in adverse lighting conditions and far into the night. Weighing just approx. 1,150 g, the rangefinder 56 is particularly lightweight compared to conventional binoculars.

55

Victory RF
Extremely Lightweight, Rangefinder Button: One Touch Principle When the rangefinder button is pressed, the reticle lights up so that the target can be sighted. After releasing the button, the distance is displayed immediately in metres or yards. When the Ballistic Information System (BIS) is activated, the holdover value is shown right after the distance. The One Touch Principle reduces any movement to a minimum when rangefinding. Full-Metal Magnesium Body The binocular body is extremely resilient and protected by a shock-absorbing rubber armour. Thanks to its water- and dustproof construction as well as its nitrogen filling, the rangefinder is designed for extreme conditions and absolutely free of internal fogging.

SET Button: Three Functions The SET button 1. turns the Ballistic Information System (BIS) on or off. 2. selects the ballistic programme to match the loads trajectory. 3. selects the desired unit of measurement (metres / centimetres or yards / inches).

Self-Illuminating LED Display At the touch of a button, the LED display is instantly activated in the field of view and automatically adapts to the brightness of the surroundings. Thus, it always provides optimal readability, no matter what the lighting conditions and background are like.

LotuTec Lens Coating Stunning image quality, regardless of the weather: the LotuTec protective layer causes water to drip right off. Dirt, grime and fingerprints can easily be removed.

56

Once the distance to the target is known, the right aiming point increases the chances of a successful shot. Both rangefinders by Carl Zeiss are equipped with the fully integrated electronic ballistic calculator that tells exactly how many centimetres/inches the shooter has to aim higher or lower.

The Ballistic Information System (BIS) generates the ideal aiming point from the chosen ballistic curve and the measured distance. The combination of a lightning fast laser rangefinder and precise ballistic calculator offers unique potential for successful shots.

Victory NV
Victory NV 5.6 x 62 T*

T he Compact Night V ision Device

Featuring particularly handy operating elements, the compact and ergonomic construction of the Victory NV provides easy handling and operation. Further advantages: integrated illuminated diode to brighten up the close focus distance, eyepieces suitable for eyeglass wearers and the possibility to manually adjust the intensity of the image intensifier tube.

Thanks to the principle of residual light intensification, the night vision device Victory NV absorbs light which is no longer perceived by the human eye. Light reflections of the observed object are amplified on the illuminated screen at 20,000 times. The large field of view provides a wide view over the events at nighttime. The shortest close focus distance is five metres. An integrated reticle allows for estimating distances even by night.

The markings help to estimate the distance. Picture at a distance of 50 metres.

Image Intensifier Tube Easy Handling By pushing the buttons + and , the intensity of the image intensifier tube is adapted to the prevailing lighting conditions. The innovative image intensifier tube of generation 2+ featuring a 20,000fold light intensification provides a crystal clear, sharp high-resolution image.

Illuminating Diode An integrated infrared LED brightens up the close focus distance by night.
