A good website is http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/welcome.

cfm/host/in that would give you overall info about Switzerland and the places you want to see. Switz has attractions ranging from mountains (Alps) to water-falls, to good country-side to museums. You would want to decide upfront what you want to see. I am in love with mountains in particular. Most of the mountain places have several facilities like cable-car rides, cogwheel trains, rent-a-bike. One can simply take a trek by feet too. The places that I would recommend [not in any particular order] are: (1) Mount Pilatus: You need to go to Luzern to go to Pilatus. Check this out at www.pilatus.ch (2) Jungfrauhoch: Mother of all Alps peaks. A MUST SEE. Very close to Interlanken/Grindelwald. Check it out at www.jungfrau.ch (3) Mountt Titlis: Another Alps peak, very popular with desis. Check it out at www.titlis.ch (4) Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno: Italian border of Switzerland. Area is in south-east of Switz and is called Ticchino (pronounced as Ti-chi-no). A warm, sunny and often very cheerful place. Hardly any mountains, but good country-side. Lots of famous castles and the famous Swiss Miniature park in Lugano (a must-see for children). Check out www.lugano.ch/ and http://www.swissminiatur.ch/ie/index.asp (5) Geneva, Montreux, Vevey: French border, South-West of Switzerland. Lovely country-side. A famous castle in Montreux, a genuinely pretty town. Vevey has loads of vineyards. Geneva is a famous town with United Nations office, Swiss watch museums etc. You could consider this in case you like to go around in cities. Honestly, city tours and museums bore me to death . (6) Interlaken: There is hardly anything to see here, but a boat ride in the Geneva-lake is recommended. Also, you could take a para-sailing ride, if you wish. Your international insurance would not cover this; one needs to buy explicit insurance before taking a jump Check it out at www.interlaken.ch (7) Zermatt: Another Alps peak Matternhorn here. The famous Tobbleron chocolates have taken their special shape [tetra-pack like] from this peak. A good place. Check out www.zermatt.ch (8) Zurich: Nothing much to see, apart from Rhine falls and us! Rhine falls is Switzerlands Niagara! (9) Grindelwald: One of my favorites. Its a valley-town with easy access to lots of Alps peaks [e.g. Maenlichen, Jungfrauhoch, ] by cable-car rides. A very dreamy-looking small town, good for parking yourself. You can get apart-hotels [with kitchenette facility] there. Check it out at www.grindelwald.com. All above are pretty close to Interlaken or Grindlewald [in the range of 1-2 hours by train]. Buy Swiss pass, which is about 400 to 500 Swiss Francs per head and is valid for a week and works on most of the modes of transportations in Switzerland. It could be cold in some of these Alps peaks, so you might want to get some warm clothing. Dont forget to get dark sun-glasses, you are going to need them in the snowy peaks. You get veggie food at most places, in case you are interested. You are likely to find a lot of Indian restaurants at most of the above tourist attractions. Local currency is Swiss Francs (CHF). Most big hotels accept USD or Euros, but smaller places accept only CHF.
