Position Summary: Grant writer will utilize proven grant research, grant writing, and grant awards experience to assist Responsive Education Solutions (ResponsiveEd) to meet their academic growth and facilities expansion goals and objectives. Under limited supervision and direction, the Grant Writer will facilitate research, development, review, and editing of departmental and/or institutional grant proposals; conducts extensive research for potential funding sources and maintains grant database; supports faculty and administration in developing award winning proposals. Qualifications:  Education/Certification  Prefer a Four-year degree from an accredited College or University and/or Grant Writing certificate, but not required.

Experience  5+ years of successful experience writing responses to federal, state, and private (corporate/foundation) grants and/or endowments.  Must be able to provide information of grants awarded for verification purposes, along with completed Employment Application. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)             
 

Advance knowledge of federal and state grant guidelines Strong knowledge of private endowments Excellent writing and research skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills Ability to listen and develop information into grant proposals Ability to classify ideas into coherently written grant proposals Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in various disciplines Ability to operate personal computer, with various software programs Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain accurate records Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to travel as necessary.

10+ years of successful experience writing responses to federal, state, and private (corporate/foundation) grants and/or endowments, preferably in education. Total grant award of $5,000,000 within the last 5 years. Must be able to provide information of grants awarded for verification purposes. Experience completing and submitting Charter Application for new Charter Schools.

Responsibilities and Duties:         Facilitates, reviews, and edits grant proposals; conducts library and electronic research; compiles data; inputs and retrieves data via computer. Conducts research on potential funding sources; maintains contact with external agencies. Works closely with faculty and staff in developing and transforming ideas into grant proposals; interacts with campus constituencies involved in grant-funding activities; serves as departmental liaison to Finance and Administration. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of particular areas involved in identifying and soliciting grants; may collaborate with various internal departments. May coordinate project activities; prepares and processes letters and correspondence, presentation materials, and manuscripts; maintains funding opportunity databases, activity tracking system, and related confidential files. Research, complete, and submit Charter School Applications within various states. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Travel as necessary.
