Ready Reckoner 2010 - Education Partners From 14 August 2009, the following premiums apply to all new memberships which commence on or after 1 January 2010. These premiums will also apply to existing members who make a payment in 2010.

*Family includes the student,the spouse of the student and any dependent children of the student under 18 years of age who are not married or in a defacto relationship who have been authorised to enter and remain in Australia with the student and who are actually residing at the same place of residence as the student.Other family members are advised to purchase Visitors Cover. International students are required as a condition of their student visa to maintain private health insurance for the duration of their visa (there are limited exceptions-please see our OSHC Membership Guide for details). Students taking out cover for the first time through Medibank Private must purchase a minimum of 12 months coverage or the maximum of their visa length if less than 12months.

A 6% discount applies to OSHC purchased on or after 14 August 2009 for periods of 13 months or more (up to 5 years). Figures quoted include the 6% discount.

Visa Length Health Cover is the simplest premium option recommended for all international students. This method of payment is a once only payment for the length of the student visa. This will ensure that international students are protected from any subsequent increase in premiums during that time.If there are any visa or status changes as an international student please advise Medibank Private.
