My life is a writing in progress.. I constantly discard old ideas and concepts that do not serve anymore, and embrace new ones.. but eventually on the inner path, I know will have to drop everything I know or hold true, as the buddha once said that we need to drop all beliefs and everything that we have heard to be true.. to be able experience our own inner reality. Also being comfortable with one's self when one is alone is very important. There are people who are not very comfortable with being with themselves. Indeed they dread loneliness and are always restless... they are looking outward for company to fill the void, wanting to be with others or to go out. I find that in solitude I can meditate, write, journal, paint, create... I can be creative with my full attention... and I look forward to these moments as they are so rare. To centre myself everyday, I meditate. Bear in mind that there are different types of meditation. People meditate for a variety of reasons. Some for peace of mind, others to overcome stress. Some for realizing "who am I?" Some meditate on the breath, some on the chakras, some on the sensations in the body. Whatever the method, single pointed concentration is required for meditation. Meditation for me is a process of stilling the mind (repeating a mantra is useful for getting into this state as the mind tends to wander), concentrating at the third eye center... then being absorbed... being aware and witnessing... perceiving the inner light... then piercing the light within.. catching the inner sound current... this vibration pulls one into the very depth of their being... which leads one to inner mystical experiences.
A true master is preferred as an inner guide for this practice of light and sound, as one can get misguided or side-tracked even within their inner experiences. Mystic_Sanctuary
