O Adjectivo - Comparativo e Superlativo - Os adjectivos de uma s slaba formam o comparativo de superioridade acrescentando er + than e o superlativo acrecentando -est.

Exemplo: He is taller than his brother, but he is not the tallest in his class. - Os adjectivos com 3 ou mais slabas formam o comparativo de superioridade com: more + ajectivo+ than, e o superlativo com : the most + adjectivo.

Exemplo: Shes more intelligent than her brother, but shes not the most intelligent person in her family. - A maioria dos adjectivos com duas slabas formam o comparativo de superioridade com: more + adjectivo+than e o sperlativo com the most+adjectivo - Os adjectivos de duas slabas que terminam em y (pretty, happy, ...), -le (noble, gentle, ...), w (yellow, narrow, ... ) e er (clever, tender, ...) formam o comparative -er + adjectivo+ than e o superlativo -o

Exemplo: Shes prettier than me, but her sister is the prettiest and the cleverest girl I know. - Com alguns adjectivos de duas slabas (quiet; clever; narrow; simple; common, ...) pode-se usar as duas formas.

Exemplo: It's noisy here. Can we go somewhere quieter /more quiet?

Exemplo: He is less hard-working than his sister, or He is not so hardworking as his sister
