A dream to make beauty and grooming a ritual and a habit for the average indian woman, YLG was designed to get her to look at the mirror as often as she could and tell herself that ‘she looks great’! A vision realized through business design to first start a beauty academy, create a membership based salon model… and to take it from mind to market in quick time. A unique model that promises unlimited usage and thereby creates a new culture in beauty. Success and scale followed as it has been rated by Forbes as one of the 5 start-ups to watch in india.

Young and emerging India. Where new lifestyle standards have been set. Fitness experts, Talwalkars, harness this change. To reach out to every nook and corner of India. ‘WE’ is the new ‘I’… how? Welingkar Education wanted to be contemporary, future-oriented dynamic institute. Where you learn, apply, experience, imagine, unlearn, reapply. Design enabled this creation. A simple, radical solution changed the institute to an open-source university, the ‘Google’ of education. Can one create a destination in the middle of nowhere, bang in between two bustling cities? 7 was the answer. A highway food court in the middle of nowhere, an oasis, a natural stopover, a destination for people who have already tasted the fruit of urbanization. Come to think of it, the only dream of entrepreneurs who started this concept was to provide clean rest-rooms and a hygienic food place on indian highways. It has already notched up sales of 150 thousand rupees every day and is all set for scale-up, and it has created a new highway culture.

We can progress practice but can we also demonstrate philosophy?

By creating a new paradigm, methodology and system of development for India that is equally relevant elsewhere.
