This module forms part of MUSPRA unit 353- Music Event Management

Assignment

The success of event management relies on teamwork, effective planning, research and a good deal of creative thinking. You will also be assessed on your abilities to communicate your ideas effectively, so good presentation skills are also important. You will be set two main tasks set during the term, which will contribute to your event management portfolio: Work in groups to plan and organise a 30- date UK tour for a newly signed pop artist. Students must work in a managerial capacity to: • • • • • • Arrange transport and accommodation Liaise with booking agent to create route/ venue schedule Present a catering rider Present a tech rider complete with stage plan Create a spreadsheet of expenses including per diems and all crew fees Identify ways to make profit

Evidence: Business Scenario- Students must create a verbal presentation and documents on the above to be submitted as a tour support request to tutor acting as record company. EvaluationStudents must evaluate their groups’ performance in this task identifying areas for improvement.
