A  London Theatre Break for A Leap Year Marriage Proposal
How did Valentine’s Day go? Could have been better? Here at London Theatre Breaks we were reminded today that leap years (of which 2012 is one) are the time when ladies get to do the asking and gentlemen get to do the nodding. Yes, although it only happens once every four years and unlike every other day of the year, on 29 February it is tradition for the lady to take the lead What I didn’t know is that if we say “no” to their proposal of marriage  (without any legal impediment backing up our position) we have to pay a fine! So why not let theatre break the ice on 29 February 2012: because if he says no, he’s paying!

Valentine Ideas Valentine Ideas: Agent Provocateur and Theatre Breaks Valentine Ideas
By Simon Harding on February 9th, 2012

3 February 2012 | Filed under: News | Posted by: Simon Harding -- Download Valentine Ideas as PDF -OK, you’ve hopefully known Theatre Breaks for some time now. We have a chat about theatres and hotels, restaurants and attractions: we discuss what your “other half” may or may not like to see, whether you are really likely to need a swimming pool at the hotel (however good your intentions), what you are likely to want to eat just before the show and whether it is worthwhile dashing out to the nearest pub instead of paying theatre prices… but I am not too sure whether our relationship stands up to discussing Valentine Ideas. What I do know is that Mrs H always likes to look good however informal the occasion, and I am guessing that all Mrs, Mss and Misses As, Bs, Cs all feel the same – especially on a romantic occasion such as Valentine’s Day. In fact here at Theatre Breaks we have found that a theatre break is usually a romantic occasion whatever the date (and I would suggest that the gentlemen out there try and remember that!)

* Leap Year London Theatre Breaks FREE LONDON TOUR
We have free tickets for Original London Bus Tours. See the sites, from the top of a bus or even from a boat on the thames – now that’s a great place to pop the question! Tickets are given a way for all couples coming to London on 29 February on a theatre break booked through www.theatrebreaks.co.uk  - To collect, book your break and then contact us at tour@theatrebreaks.com quoting your booking number and we will send out your tickets. What ever you do on 29 February this year, London Theatre Breaks hope you have a great time doing it.

So no cheap tricks, I’m just going to give you the link (Here it is: CLICK HERE) to what I am sure you will find is a super website, with the a wide range Valentines ideas, all perfect for… you know what! PLUS Agent Provocateur are offering free worldwide express delivery until 5th February, just use code ED12 at the checkout. So back to the point! Whatever you are doing with your Valentine this year, whether it is a  short  break  to London or maybe a bit of ooh-la-la with a or even if you are just cuddling up on the sofa at home watching the Champions League, Theatre Breaks have teamed up with Agent Provocateur who have a saucy new collection that will make perfect gifts this Valentine’s Day. Now I hesitate to go into any detail at this point. I feel happy to sit here and discuss anything theatrical, but it feels a bit weird talking about… well, you know… even if it is Valentines Ideas for Valentine’s Day! Anyway AP’s “saucy new collection” includes a range of items made out of silk and lace etc. AP even gave us a few images to demonstrate their products, but they all seemed to feature scantily clad young ladies and I’m not sure how you would react stumbling across a theatre breaks blog full of such images – however fine the stitching!   Oddly enough, they didn’t send any images featuring their fine range of bath towels: I guess the underlining message is that if you go to Agent Provocateur for your Valentine present, don’t bring back towels! BTW if you are desperate to avoid Valentine’s Day – head over to Hush on Brook Street for their Single and Fabulous event.

By Simon Harding on February 9th, 2012

the touristy things that you have been promising yourself that one day you will do. Well now is a great time to be thinking about heading to London for a short break or theatre break. There are some great shows and some great deals and, as London gears itself up for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer, it really is an exciting place to be. Highlights for short breaks in London include the London 2012 Festival, the World Shakespeare Festival featuring all 37 of the bard’s plays in 37 languages, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and  the bicentennial of Charles Dickens. Also, in the art world  exhibitions of Picasso, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Yoko Ono, Lucian Freud, and David Hockney not to mention a huge Bauhaus retrospective.   Whilst back on the stage we have – to name a few – Cate Blanchett, Juliette Binoche, a new Damon Albarn Opera, Top Hat, Singin’ in the Rain  and the RSC’s brilliant Matilda.
