PREPAID ENERGY METER The project deals with the design of an equipment to read the energy consumed in particular load through an analog energy meter and to cut off the total power supplied to a particular load on prepay basis. Because if we know the importance and the cost of energy production we will be definitely be aware of consuming power in a limited way. This prepaid scheme can be implemented in the places like marriage halls, lodges and hotel and even in offices where the supply will be cut off based on the timing and the amount of energy consumed. The purpose of this project is to avoid the on spot billing for power consumption and a post pay scheme. So we propose a technique to measure the same energy through some digital techniques. The Rotary arrangement of the meter is drilled at a corner of the rotating disc. Then through this hole the light is sent. This project is an automatic three-phase starter, which works under the control of 89c51 a versatile micro controller. The 3phase motor first rotates in star configuration and then it runs in delta configuration. This method is efficient method to save the motor life and reduces the power consumption. The timing can be controlled accurately with the help of micro controller.

EMBEDDED CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR HEAVY LOAD

This project is a design of controller-based circuit breaker. Unlike conventional MCBs here we involve micro controller for breaking the circuit. The sensing circuit is dependent on a current transformer. When the current exceeds a limit, the controller senses it sends a trip signal via port 2.0. This method of using micro controller helps to have an account of how many times the current is exceeding and it helps to judge the power conditions better than the normally available trips. In normally available trips we have to switch ON the trip manually but here it is done automatically.

OPTICAL TACHOMETER FOR LOW RPM

The projects is deals with the design of tachometer for low power RPM. The micro controller is the major part of the project, the micro controller is 89c51. it has four ports. The clock frequency of the controller is 12mhz. We are counting the RPM by optically; we have to keep the LED and the LDR in the narrow position, the LDR is the sensor to count the RPM the output of the LDR is converted into digital signal and it is fed to the micro controller, we are using port 1 is the in port and port2 as out port, the readings will be displayed in the seven segment display.

The project is actually the design of telephone based home automations system which can control the loads at home by using various different frequencies for each equipment. Here each device is allocated with each frequency. Here circuit senses the selected switches at a remote place and accordingly it activates the high voltage loads at different places. The project finds its applications in controlling the industrial devices from a remote place where it is dangerous to switch off or on from the near by place.

MICRO CCONTROLLER SCR FIRING ANGLE CONTROL OF DC MOTOR

The project deals with the design of speed controller for a Dc motor using a switching technique through UJT. The gate pulses are generated by the UJT and supplied to the SCR gate. This interface of UJT and SCR actually protects the SCR. Varying the voltage applied to the field windings may control the speed. The input supply is rectified with the help of SCR. This type of control is basically an analog type of control. A proper isolation has to be provided to the SCR, if not it will lead to the failure of SCR. We may go for optical isolation or galvanic isolation. The gate pulses are actually extracted from the power supply itself so as to ensure the synchronization.

AUTOMATIC 300W VOLTAGE STABILIZER

Automatic voltage stabilizer is a device which is used to stabilize the output voltage with an accuracy in the order of +/- 10%. When input voltage comes under 200 V, the stabilizer will boost in addition with that voltage of 20 v using auto transformer. The output voltage is tapped from the transformer through the relay, relay output volt also reduced to 20 v if the input is above 220 V.

In 3 phase applications, if low voltage is available in any one or Two phases, and you want your equipment in normal voltage; this circuit will solve your problem. However, a proper rating fuse needs to be used in input lines. This provides correct voltage in same power supply lines through relays from the other phase where the correct voltage is available. our project will automatically change the phase if any one is cut off.

PWM BASED LAMP CONTROL USING 89C51

This title controls the dc BULB speed through modulation technique called as pulse width modulation. When the width of the ON time increase the BULB gets more on time and hence the average voltage applied to the dc BULKB will increase. If the ON time is reduced then the motor gets less average voltage. Here varying the applied voltage magnitude through PWM varies the speed. The gate pulses are applied through micro controller port 2.1 and given to the base of the transistor, which drives the DC load. Often, people attempt to control DC BULB with a variable resistor or variable resistor connected to a transistor. While the latter approach works well, it generates heat and hence wastes power. This simple pulse width modulation DC BULB control eliminates these problems. It controls the motor speed by driving the motor with short pulses. These pulses vary in duration to change the speed of the BULB.

SWITCHED MODE POWER SUPPLY

In this project we control the output voltage available at the load as a variable voltage from 0 to 12 v with very good precision through the switching soft triggers from a micro controller. The ON OFF pulses obtained from the micro controller are obtained from the delay programs. Based on the voltage requirement we may change the delay programs, so that the a DC to DC converter is realized using a power transistors. A sufficient isolation has to be ensuring to protect the micro controller as well as the load.

ENERGY MEASUREMENT THROUGH POWER LINE CARRIER COMMUNICATION

The project deals with the design of an equipment to read the energy consumed in particular load through an analog energy meter and through the power line itself. The purpose of this project is to avoid the on spot billing for power consumption. So we propose a technique to measure the same energy at a different place. The project transmits the signals. But this project is restricted to one house.

IR BASED FAN SPEED CONTROL

This project deals with the design of MANUAL room temperature control circuit, which will vary the speed of Dc fan using an infrared control. More over the project is based on embedded micro controller 89c51. Here we make the fan to rotate in 5 different speeds based on the temperature conditions available in the room. The program for this project is assembled through asem5113 software and flashed through a software easy downloader. This project is very versatile and has a reliable operation when compared to the conventional method of temperature controller. The specialty of this project is that it does not have a very complicated method of thryristor circuits.

AUTOMATIC SINGLE-PHASE PREVENTER

The project deals with the design of automatic supply cut off system for a three-phase system using micro controller 89c51. The motor while rotating with three phases will not function properly when the supply line is reduced from 3 phases to 2 phases or one phase. But it will create huge damage to motor when two phases are not available and if the phase sequence changes. To avoid this situation we are in need of putting the preventer circuit in between the 3-phase motor and the RYB of the mains supply.

PC BASED PREPAID ENERGY MEASUREMENT

The project aims at the design of a versatile pc based virtual instrument for the measurement of energy in the homes. Currently we have analog instrument for the measurement, which gives the problems like inaccuracy, and more time power

consumption also. Also EB department people should come to individual houses to note the reading. All the above said problems are completely eliminated from the scenario in our project. The digital instrument we are designing is connected to a centralized server using the rf communication itself and not a separate line which being the strength of our project.

Instantaneous energy consumption is communicated to the micro computer and the bill is prepared according to the tariff fixed by the state government.

DUAL DC MOTOR SPEED CONTROL USING 89C51

The project is to control the speed of the DC motor through micro controller programming so that the two DC motors are controlled through one micro controller efficiently. The advantage is that we can have the speed variations through a digital control. The operation of each motor is fully independent and we may operate in various modes like either one mode, two mode operation depending on the requirement. Often, people attempt to control DC motors with a variable resistor or variable resistor connected to a transistor. While the latter approach works well, it generates heat and hence wastes power. This simple pulse width modulation DC motor control eliminates these problems. It controls the motor speed by driving the motor with short pulses.
