CHAPTER 1 EVENT Mr. Hyde trampled a little girl (Edie) Richard Enfield stopped Mr. Hyde from leaving the girl on the ground CHAPTER 2 EVENT R. Enfield threatened Mr. Hyde Edies father, R. Enfield & Mr. Hyde went to his house CHAPTER 3 EVENT Conversation between Mr. Utterson (uncle) & R. Enfield (nephew)while taking a walk CHAPTER 4 EVENT Mr. Utterson read Dr. Jekylls will DETAILS If he was dead, all possession would go to Mr. Hyde, if he disappeared for 3 months, Mr. Hyde would step in his shoes Mr. Utterson thought Dr. Jekyll was blackmailed by Mr. Hyde Fell out of favour due to scientific ideas (Dr. Lanyon said that Dr. Jekyll was out of his mind, scientific rubbish) Morning, middle of the day and night-finally met Mr. Hyde, asked to see his face, Mr. Hyde gave an address in Soho. DETAILS Dr. Jekyll denied being under control of Mr. Hyde Asked Mr. Utterson to give Mr. Hyde his rights. 1 DETAILS Mr. Utterson guessed correctly the signature on the cheque belonged to Dr. Jekyll. DETAILS Give a gift of money or he would inform the police Paid 10 pounds in gold to the father and 90 pounds in cheque to R. Enfield (cashed at the bank) DETAILS 2 in the morning, out to get a doctor for sick grandmother Mr. Hyde said it was an accident

Mr. Utterson visited Dr. Lanyon Mr. Utterson haunted the door in the side street (back door of Dr. Jekylls laboratory) CHAPTER 5 EVENT Mr. Utterson went to Dr. Jekylls house on dinner invitation

CHAPTER 6 EVENT A year later in October 18__, Sir Danvers Carew was murdered DETAILS Maidservant saw the incident, Mr. Hyde hit him with his walking stick, trampled until his bones broke, half of the broken stick was found there with a letter addressed to Mr. Utterson Found stub end of a green cheque in the ashes in fire place, half of the broken stick behind the door Mr. Hyde didnt turn up

Mr. Utterson & police went to Mr. Hydes house in Soho They went to the bank to capture Mr. Hyde CHAPTER 7 EVENT Mr. Utterson visited Dr. Jekyll

DETAILS Promised to disassociate himself from Mr. Hyde, Mr. Hyde left a letter saying he was escaping, Dr. Jekyll was safe. The notes came in an envelope that was burnt by Dr. Jekyll. He said Mr. Hyde dictated the terms in his will. Poole denied receiving any letters, only bills. Mr. Guest remarked that the handwriting on the letter was similar to Dr. Jekylls invitation card, only differently sloped. Mr. Utterson assumed that Dr. Jekyll had forged for a murderer. DETAILS 12, 14 & 15 January Dr Lanyon was pale, old, tired & frightened, Refused to see or hear anything about Dr. Jekyll. He died 3 weeks after that. Dr. Jekyll wrote to leave him alone in his dark way, he was suffering for his sins.

CHAPTER 8 EVENT Mr. Utterson failed to see Dr. Jekyll Mr. Utterson went to see Dr. Lanyon Mr. Utterson wrote a letter to Dr. Jekyll (about his refusal to see others & unhappy break with Dr. Lanyon) and received a reply Dr. Lanyon sent a letter to Mr. Utterson

to be destroyed unread upon his death, Mr. Utterson opened the cover (inside cover was written not to be opened till the death or disappearance of Dr. Jekyll"), he kept it in his safe unread.

CHAPTER 9 EVENT Mr. Utterson walked with R. Enfield on the side street & decided to go to the court facing the back door of Dr. Jekylls laboratory CHAPTER 10 EVENT Poole went looking for Mr. Utterson

DETAILS Dr. Jekyll was in the middle window, he was feeling low but not for long, refused to join them for a walk. Mr. Utterson & R. Enfield saw Dr. Jekylls face blacken, twist, alter and melt into something horrible. He gave out a cry & closed the window.

Mr. Utterson went with Poole to Dr. Jekylls house

Mr. Utterson decided to break the lab door

DETAILS March, he suspected Dr. Jekyll had been murdered 8 days ago when they heard him cry God, he had been crying night and day for medicine, he placed orders to buy salt from the chemists on the stair He locked himself in the lab. His servants were gathered in the hall and afraid. They went to the lab, the voice that answered was not Dr. Jekylls. the drug was not pure like the one he bought before. Poole said he saw a masked man in the lab. Mr. Utterson guessed that Dr. Jekyll was suffering from some diseases that altered his look. Poole saw not his master but Mr. Hyde. He believed Dr. Jekyll was murdered and the killer was still there, Poole took an axe and they waited for 10 minutes listening to the pacing of footsteps. Mr. Utterson demanded to see Dr, Jekyll or hed break the door. He recognized Mr. Hydes voice. Poole swung the axe 5 times to break the lock. Mr. Hyde lay in the middle of the room dead. DETAILS Poole suggested the doctor was buried. On the business table they found a large envelope addressed to Mr. Utterson1 will and 2 letters in the will, all Dr. Jekylls possession would go to Mr. Utterson. The letter asked him to read Dr. Lanyons letter, Mr., Utterson put the 2nd. Letter in his pocket, trying to save Dr. Jekylls good name. He went home to read the letters

CHAPTER 11 EVENT Poole and Mr. Utterson could not find Dr. Jekyll in the lab

CHAPTER 12 EVENT Dr, Lanyons letter(statement-9th January)

DETAILS Dr. Jekyll sent a letter asking him to go to is house, force open the study room, go in alone, open the cupboard, take out the 4th drawer from the top,(the drawer contained powders, a bottle of red liquid and paper book), carry it to his house (Cavendish Square), a man would come to see him and he had to hand it to the man Dr. Lanyon waited with a revolver, 12midnight the man came, took the liquid, measured it with a measuring glass, and added one of the powders, the liquid turned purple and lastly green. gave options to Dr. Lanyon, to allow him to leave with the drug or drink it there. Dr. Lanyon chose the latter. He saw Mr. Hyde change into Dr. Jekyll. DETAILS He was born rich, had good and bad traits, hid all his bad manners with shame, there were two sides of his nature, he tried to separate the two, he risked death taking the drug, he knew he was more wicked but he was also delighted. Mr. Hyde was young and smaller than him as Dr. Jekyll was mostly good, he welcomed the new person, he had another experiment to turn back to Dr. Jekyll, the new power tempted him and he felt his life as a well-known doctor was boring, he was awed by the wickedness he was capable of, he didnt feel guilty. He woke up in Soho before the murder of Sir Danvers, he had gone to bed as Dr. Jekyll but woke up as Mr. Hyde, he was frightful. Mr. Hyde had grown taller and stronger, he doubled & tripled the dose of the drug. He was at a crossroad; to remain as Dr. Jekyll and lose the pleasure of evil or to become Mr. Hyde and lose all touch with his work, interest and become friendless. He decided to choose the former. He didnt take the potion for 2 months but later longed for Mr. Hyde so he mixed and swallowed the drug. Mr. Hyde killed Sir Danvers, he felt no pity but was scared for his life. 4

CHAPTER 13 EVENT Dr. Henry Jekylls account of the case

He regretted his action later and decided to remain as Dr. Jekyll and he helped others, but he was tempted again. He was in Regents Park when he turned into Mr. Hyde, he went to a hotel and wrote a letter to Poole and Dr. Lanyon. He turned into Dr. Jekyll in front of Dr. Lanyon but woke up again as Mr. Hyde. He took double dose to become Dr. Jekyll, after 6 hours he took another dose, he had sleepless night, he was in pain, the supply of essential salt began to run low, the first supply was not pure, he was Dr. Jekyll when he wrote a letter to Mr. Utterson, he was certain he would finally turn to Mr. Hyde, who would be fearing punishment. Dr. Jekylld be gone forever but in the end after turning into Mr. Hyde, he killed himself. Prepared by, GBH2010
