Philosophy of Education
In my classroom i will strive for my students to be invested in education and to develop a passion for learning and discovering. Throughout life, it is important to never stop learning, and I want to encourage my students to explore subjects that they find fascinating. I decided to become a teacher because I believe this is a field that is a perfect fit for me. After spending three years in school for archaeology, I realized how much I loved teaching children about history my senior year of college. Through working with youth and my education at Waynesburg, I now realize that this field is my passion. Students will prosper in my classroom because I plan on taking an individualized approach to history. This is not a field that is irrelevant because it is a thing of the past. Instead, students will see the relevance of history in the modern era. Also, I plan on tailoring projects to suit student interest and involve student input when it comes to planning research projects. Concerning discipline in the classroom, I stress the importance of respect. If students respect me, I will respect them. By acting as a positive influence and being aware of my student’s individual needs, I strive to be an effective educator who maintains a student-centered classroom.

Technology Experience
Throughout my studies and teaching experiences, I have experience with the following programs: Youtube Glogster Animoto Photostory MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint Scribd Rubistar Blogging Google Docs and Calendar

These resources are excellent for technology integration in any classroom. As a teacher in today’s digital age, it’s essential to find new and unique ways to use technology. It not only engages students in the classroom, but makes learning fun and diverse! It can also help students new about history in a new and exciting way that encourages creativity.
