My GPS is all screwed up,´ asked Johnson thrusting his head slightly out from his car. ³It¶s in Prospect Avenue. Go down straight and you will find Princeton Shopping Center. Move yonder and you will have to take a right to the Prospect Ave. Once there you will have to drive for a few more minutes and you will find yourself at the Lab,´ said a bright looking youngster. ³Thanks,´ said Johnson retracting his head back into the car and raised his tinted window back up. Johnson slammed his foot on the accelerator and indulged in a smile to self. He was almost there! He could not fully understand why he felt so euphoric. Was it because he was entering what he considered as a scientist¶s holy land? Or was it because he was going to meet a legend? And what was the project all about? They wouldn¶t even talk over the phone about it. They told that it was the brainchild of the famous Dr. Prince. Dr. Prince does not do normal projects, does he? The last time when he did one, did not the whole world turn back and gasp for breath? What was it this time? What was brewing in the mind of the genius this time around? He did not know how to place his emotions but only knew it felt strange. Something like walking into a fiction. I am gonna meet the wizard of Oz. He drove his car with deft carelessness that accompanies a practiced driver who is preoccupied with other matters. It was that slow free ride with careless, break-less turns as if it was a jet ski and not a car.

Johnson¶s mind became euphoric on seeing the beautiful flowers dancing in the wind. The colossal fifty odd feet of concrete and glass jutted out from the ground like some alien spaceship. The sudden interest in this laboratory was simply as a result of it getting federal clearance to pursue research into human cloning and genome sequencing. Massive dollars were sunk into this project. as the Carl Icahn Laboratory. But only in the past few years. the building looked more like a hangar than a laboratory. He saw the throng of people playing the game happily. trying to make it the world¶s largest formal institute and laboratory studying into human genome sequencing. he knew the kid was right because dominating the entire scene was a colossal building. A huge area of several thousand acres was quarantined for the sake of this massive laboratory housed inside the institute.Even as he turned the corner. Johnson remembered the flutter and excitement this institute had witnessed on those few first months of the announcement. he felt awed by its commanding presence« Its EINSTEIN IS BACK KARTHIK YOGANATHAN 3 . Johnson rode inside and looked at the imposing building for a short while before he got off his Volt. Some of the people who stood in the throng were Nobel laureates! They went and spoke to the management in the institute. Johnson remembered. they were called and politely shown the door. No placards were to be seen nor were any angry scientist lined up on the gates. After a few hours. all packed and ready to spend the rest of the life in the institute. None of them were able to believe it. And the institute was functioning in full throttle. protesting against the decision of the government. But apparently the Princeton and the government reacted violently to the idea and stopped all such attempts for takeover. Many placard-holding people had queued up in front of this very institute. Papers reported that a Japanese institute named Fujisaki put forth a bid of mind blowing 220 billion. Now everything was back to normal. Already there was mounting pressure on the government to stop this insidious business of researching into human cloning. He remembered the yearning to get inside the institute and make it his home.world flocked to Carl Icahn Laboratory hoping to do some serious research in human cloning. Even as he saw it. He remembered that feeling of disappointment when he was asked to move out. How he wished to be there! An institute cleared by the government for studying into human cloning! No other institute had that distinction! Grapevine had it that top companies around the world lined up for a takeover of the institute. Johnson remembered how he felt that day. But gossips had it that even they were asked to move out.

He knew it was natural that the security was so tight in here. How many times must he say the same damn thing? He was asked to sign a register and shown the way to a corridor. The corridor was totally empty except for a girl. ³To meet Dr. he found the door he sought for and knocked it. The long asymmetric skirt dangled down the couch nearly touching the floor at one end and came up to her knees on the other end. Perhaps the intent was to give it an overall sense of balance. Inside there was another guy who examined his I. typing into her laptop. After a few minutes of searching. Talk about being suitably dressed! As if sensing this.´ replied Johnson.
