Careers in Health Informatics & eHealth Sponsorship Package

CHiE 2012

[Vision]

CHiE is a unique event in Health Informatics and eHealth. It aims to provide employment connections in the emerging field of Health Informatics to students and recent graduates in Ontario.

[Experience]

On March 22nd at 4pm, the event will begin with an hour-long keynote panel featuring Maureen Charlebois (Canada Health Infoway), Gary Higgs (CIO at Grand River Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital), and Will Falk (Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto). The evening continues with an informal reception (food and refreshments) and information exchange in which students have the opportunity to speak to employer representatives and see the participating organization display their company, products, and visions. We are inviting students and faculty from many Ontario institutions, including McMaster University, Ryerson University, University of Guelph, University of Waterloo, University of Western Ontario, Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Toronto, York University, Conestoga College, Centennial College, George Brown College, Mohawk College and Sheridan College.

CHiE is organized by National Student Forum for Health Informatics (NSF). CHiE 2011 brought 130 students and recent graduates from 9 universities and colleges across Southern Ontario together with 20 employers inside the Communitech Hub in Kitchener, Ontario. This year’s event will be even bigger, aiming to bring between 200 and 300 attendees to Kitchener City Hall.

...OR become an official NSF sponsor
NSF welcomes financial support from industry and academia. For $15,000, your organization will become a title sponsor for CHiE 2012 and will be featured prominantly at all other NSF events and on all promotional and communication materials during 2012. Your organization’s name goes everywhere we go. Contact us to discuss this and other sponsorship options! The National Student Forum for Health Informatics was established in 2009 as a joint initiative between the National Institutes of Health Informatics (NIHI) and COACH: Canada’s Health Informatics Association. It has grown to nearly 200 official registered student and recent graduate members representing Canadian colleges, universities, law schools, and medical schools. It offers a monthly webinar series (The NSF Grand Rounds), a weekly bulletin with news and events related to Health Informatics, organizes the annual CHiE event and a student poster competition at the Advances in Health Informatics Conference, an international scientific conference. Integrated with all major social media platforms, NSF’s new website (nationalstudentforum.ca) aims to become the central information and news hub for students and recent graduates interested in health informatics. NSF is currently establishing local student groups at Canadian colleges and universities. All national initiatives are run by a core group of students who receive administrative support from NIHI. A group of senior advisors from industry and academia will provide guidance to NSF in 2012. The president of NSF reports annual progress to Health Informatics program directors at the COACH Annual Academic Forum.
