Communication skills simply do not refer to the way in which we communicate with another person. It includes many other things - the way in which we respond to the person we are speaking, body gestures including the facial ones, pitch and tone of our voice and a lot of other things. And the importance of communication skills is not just limited to the management world, since effective communication skills are now required in each and every aspect of our life. Communication is the transmission of information & meaning from one individual or group to another. The crucial element is meaning. Communication has as its central objective the transmission of meaning. The process of communication is successful only when the receiver understands as idea as the sender intended it. Both parties must agree not only information transmitted but also on the meaning of that information.

What is Communication Skills…?
1. Art of getting your message across effectively through: Spoken words Body Language Written words Visuals First & simplest way Makes an important contribution to the meaning Reflects importance Leaves greatest impact.

2. Communication may be broadly defined as the process of meaningful interaction among human beings. More specifically, it is the process by which meanings are perceived & understandings are reached among human beings.

Effective communication is a pre- requisite to climb the ladder of success, be it at personal or professional level. Let us explore its significance in the major areas of life.

For Professionals
Work place is one area where there is a struggle to survive and only good communicators are seen at the top of the hierarchy. Moreover, an effective communication within and outside the organization can lead to less misunderstanding and grievances, increase in employee performance and the resultant increase in company’s turnover.

For Salesperson

If you are unable to teach what you know. sibling. they would not be able to convince the prospective candidates and get the ‘right man for the right job’. a major cause of broken hearts is a lack of communication. In this case. if you communicate properly. effective communication is very necessary. suggesting a product accordingly and persuading him/her to buy a product largely depend on the salesperson. be it your best friend. beloved or even strangers that you come across. For Teachers This profession demands good communication skill. There are a few chances of misunderstandings and things piling up. For Recruiters Recruiters have to attract candidates to their organization and for this. thereby strengthening your bonds with people. it is vital for the teachers to communicate effectively with them. forms the basis of strong and healthy relations. along with the knowledge of the subject. All over the world. the good repute of a product in the mind of prospective buyers largely depends on the salesperson. next to advertisements. In absence of proper communication skill. In Personal Relationships Effective communication with your loved ones. they have to present a positive image of the same. For this. They should be motivated to speak up their viewpoints in class and raise questions. parents. It is more of a boon for people with small-scale industries. For the purpose. This is a major factor that can have very serious impact on the success of a business house. But as morale is a psychological factor the state of high morale is not a permanent factor. . And this is done to inform the public about the product. So to keep the moral of employees high an organization has to put continuous effort in that direction. code of discipline. 6. It can be done by maintaining an open door policy. .Primary Data: • Primary data collection method is best source information method & always good for survey. original data & first hand information. In this project we take the support of primary data collection. unbiased information. Because it gives us basic data . we collect the data by providing the questionnaires to the Computer Engineer students. They gave very useful information related to our project.

 Some of the students were very hesitating to answer some of the questions. After going through received information and communicating with them through oral communication.  Many of them also made grammatical mistakes in written communication. some were not that good.  Most of them find some difficulty in speaking fluent English. we found out following scenario:  Some of the students were very good at their communication.Analysis and Interpretation Analysis and interpretation is made or written after completion of primary data. we got valuable feedback or information from them. After preparing questionnaires and distributing them among various students. .

Listening is often more important than speaking. Following are some suggestions steps to improve your communication skills. With a little time and effort. Even if you don't know everything you want to say. especially in business. In more private conversations. communication is a skill that must be nurtured. no one will ever know you weren't born with the gift of gab. Plan your presentations and other addresses to groups whenever possible. For everyone else. take the time to be clear about the points you want to make before talking.Suggestions Good communication skills are a necessity in your personal and professional life. Some people are naturally good communicators.  Think before you speak. . To improve your communication skills.  Be an active listener. Always be honest in your communication. pay attention to what others are saying without getting distracted. you should have a general idea.

Don't slur your words together or mumble. Of course. Use words only if you are sure of their meaning.  Use appropriate volume and tone. Make yourself easily understood.  Practice. . A monotone approach is never appropriate in any setting. Take it slow. The more you do it. the easier it will get. then you'll lose your audience. you should speak louder when addressing a group than you would in private conversations. If you speak too fast. Enunciate. it's the best way to improve your communication skills. Reflect emotion in your voice.
