www.addigest.com $7M PROJECT AT THE RUTLAND SOUTHERN VERMONT REGIONAL AIRPORT. The Rutland Chamber of Commerce has again been actively involved and successful in advocating additional improvements at RSVR Airport. The FAA will be installing mandatory Runway Safety Areas (RSA) on each end of the main runway. The project will add length to the runway within the RSA project giving RSVR approximately 500’ additional. The project will also include a needed realignment of the entrance to Airport Road, repaving the road end to end and adding a right hand turning lane into the road from US Route 103. The project is supported by the Clarendon Selectboard members and the neighbors along Airport Road. The additional runway length makes this airport even more viable, reliable and safe. RSVRA is the second busiest airport in Vermont next to Burlington and is a significant asset to the region; supporting business and recreation. Historically RSVRA had enjoyed great support from our Congressional Delegation, our Rutland County Legislators and the Vermont Agency of Transportation. LAFLAMME’S, INC. ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING OF NEW LOCATION IN WHITEHALL
WHITEHALL – The official Grand Opening of the new LaFlamme’s, Inc. store in Whitehall has been slated for Friday, February 24 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, February 25, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An official ribbon cutting, including local dignitaries, will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. Located at 192 Broadway (Route 4), LaFlamme’s, Inc. provides an exciting opportunity for area residents to locally purchase top brand name furniture, flooring, electronics, appliances, and mattresses at great prices. LaFlamme’s, Inc. has completely renovated the 7200-square-foot brick structure into a spacious, fresh store filled with an extensive inventory to suit all tastes, styles and budgets. Those concerned when the former Aubuchon Hardware store abruptly closed in September 2011 need worry no longer about the large vacant building on one of Whitehall’s busiest roads. “We are very proud of the new store,” stated Christopher LaFlamme, Jr., owner of LaFlamme’s, Inc. “This is our third store in Washington County and we have put a great deal of effort into making it look fantastic for our customers.” Renovations are coming soon to the LaFlamme’s, Inc. locations in Granville and Cambridge. Beautiful new flooring and great colors lend themselves to a better shopping experience, added LaFlamme’s wife and business partner, Angela. “We want our customers to know we care enough about them, and the communities we serve, to properly renovate, restore and maintain our properties,” she said. Not only do the LaFlamme’s, Inc. stores offer aesthetic appeal they also carry an outstanding line of products. “Your home is one of the most important investments in your life, and it’s not complete without the right furnishings,” stated Christopher LaFlamme, Jr. “Our mission is to bring our customers quality products at reasonable prices. We take a no pressure, friendly approach to helping you get what you need to make your house a home.” Included among the lines carried by LaFlamme’s, Inc. are Samsung, Lane, Serta, GE, Frigidaire, Klaussner, Coaster, Panasonic, Whirlpool, LG, Bosch and Best Chair Co,. LaFlamme’s, Inc. has been doing business in Washington County since 2002 and prides itself on not just being the store customers will want to buy from, but also the people customers like doing business with. “Our knowledgeable sales team has the information customers need on durability, comfort and style. We stand behind our inventory,” adds LaFlamme. Everything from high definition Samsung televisions and Klaussner living room furniture to Paula Deen Home by Serta™ eco-friendly bedding and the latest in steam washer/dryer sets from Frigidaire is available at LaFlamme’s, Inc., at prices that will surprise. “Because of our long relationships with major suppliers, and discounts created by the volume of sales generated in our multiple locations, we can offer very competitive prices,” stated LaFlamme. “In many cases we can beat or match the big box stores, with the added bonus of local delivery and local customer service.” He encourages area residents to visit their local store before heading out of the county to make a purchase. Visitors to the Whitehall store will be treated to coffee and light refreshments during the official grand opening on February 24-25. Special grand opening sale prices will be available until March 10. The Cambridge store (2823 Route 22) and the Granville store (9140 Route 22) will also offer grand opening specials to welcome their sister store in Whitehall. For additional information, call the Whitehall store at (518) 499-2513. Normal store hours at all three LaFlamme’s, Inc. locations are Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

“The Gulping Gourmand”
Periodic Discourse Concerning Dining in Our Area.
I visited Latham’s Diner located at 3515 Burgoyne Avenue in Hudson Falls, New York. I had a short stack of blueberry pancakes with well done sausage links. The pancakes were scrumptious - light and fluffy and thoroughly cooked. The sausage links were spiced just the way I like them. The pancakes were large, so next time I will just order onetwo were just too much for me to eat. Next time you have a hankering for pancakes, give Latham’s a try. Rated for breakfast: Very Good.
