During the end phase, the active player should remove all suppression markers from his units.

Fast-Play Tabletop Wargame Rules For Combined-Arms Operations, 1936-45

The seventh sentence has an additional is so should read: Knocked-Out is a convenient term used to describe units that are no longer fit for battle.

Page 8. Recce
When calculating the number required to communicate with a command unit, the score should be 1 per 10cm, not 1 per 5cm. A command unit can only gain one +1 modifier in a turn. Recce units may only fire at enemy units during the initiative phase, when using opportunity fire or reconnaissance in force. In addition, recce units count as being one cover category better when under fire, but not when in combat.

Page 10. Command Modifiers

In the command modifier table, the first modifier should read: each successive order to the same unit or formation of units. When a command issues orders to on-table units that are using indirect fire, only the command nearest the unit may ignore the -1 command penalty for distance.

Page 11. Command Blunder

The second command blunder should read: The three units nearest the command each take three attacks from firing.

Page 19. Opportunity Fire

In addition to the optional rule for Opportunity Fire, a unit may open fire at an enemy unit immediately after the enemy unit has opened fire. Opportunity fire may only be carried out in the command phase and you may not pre-measure ranges!

Page 20. Firing Example A

In the second picture on page 20, the unit with the arrows cannot see through the bushes.

Page 24. Artillery Support Modifiers

There is a +1 for each successive request made by the FAO in a turn. This is slightly different to the modifier for command units (the CO and HQs) in that it applies to the FAO itself, rather than the units being ordered.

Page 26. Air Support Modifiers

There is a +1 for each successive request made by the FAC in a turn. This is slightly different to the modifier for command units (the CO and HQs) in that it applies to the FAC itself, rather than the units being ordered.

Page 28. Contact

The last paragraph should read: If entering a gap between enemy units, or an enemy unit and impassable terrain, the gap must be at least 5cm wide.

Page 28. Resolving Combat

The factor for Infantry means infantry only. Infantry support should use the factor for All other troops. AFVequipped flamethrowers count all targets as being in the open. Cavalry do not cause hits against armour.

Page 29. Retreat

Troops retreating into suppressed friends are knocked-out, together with the suppressed unit(s).

Page 31. Combat Example

The text on the second picture should read: The first round of combat on the right flank results in the

Russians being pushed back.

Page 35. Breakpoint

When determining the breakpoint of a battlegroup, ignore command, recce, soft-transport, aircraft and offtable artillery units. When a battlegroup withdraws from the battlefield, the opposing side counts as having reached their objectives on the final turn of the game.

Page 35. Deciding The Winner

Each player should calculate the points for all units knocked-out during the battle, including command, recce and transport units, all off-table artillery and aircraft, and field defences, then award this number of points to his opponent as Victory Points (VPs). Dont forget to add the points difference from the random points modifier to this score, eg: if you had 100 points less than the total points available at the start of the game, deduct 100 from the VPs awarded to your opponent. A player reduces his result by one category if his opponent earns at least twice as many VPs, meaning a major victory will become a minor victory and a minor victory will be reduced to no victory at all. This is useful when playing campaign games as it will affect the result.

Page 37-40. Scenarios

Assault: The attacker should occupy the objective within 6 turns to achieve a minor victory. Counter-Attack: The minor objective for either side is to inflict 25% casualties against the other, the major objective is to break the opposing battlegroup. Breakthrough Attack: The attacker will achieve a minor victory if he occupies the third of the table nearest the defender and a major victory if he exits 25% of his units from the opposite table edge. To occupy a section of the table, just treat the entire section as a terrain objective. The defender will gain a minor victory if he denies the attacker the third of the table nearest his baseline and a major victory if he prevents the attacker from exiting 25% of his units from the table. Exploitation: This is the follow-up to a breakthrough attack where the attacker succeeded in breaking through the enemy defences and is advancing into the enemy rear. The attacker has twice as many points available than the defender, but may not purchase assets for scheduled artillery or air support. The defender deploys first up to the centre of the table and must place all his artillery on-table, but may not purchase any assets or field defences. The attacker should deploy opposite the defender using mobile deployment and may use the flank deployment rule. The attacker will gain a minor victory if he occupies the centre third of the table and a major victory if he occupies the third of the table nearest the defender. To occupy a section of the table, just treat the entire section as a terrain objective. The defender will gain a minor victory if he denies the attacker the third of the table nearest his baseline and a major victory if he denies the attacker the centre third of the table. The game is limited to 8 turns with the attacker taking the first turn. Pursuit: The defender deploys first, then the attacker chooses which of the two table edges to use as his baseline. The defender may then pivot any units to face the attacker. Encirclement: The defender will gain a minor victory if he occupies the farthest third of the table from his baseline and a major victory if exits 25% of his units from the opposite table edge. To occupy a section of the table, just treat the entire section as a terrain objective. The game is limited to 12 turns.

Page 46. Field Defences

A dummy minefield costs 10 points and a marked minefield 20 points. A light bunker costs 50 points, a medium bunker 75 points and a heavy bunker 100 points.

Sample OOBs
In my haste at getting the rule book finished, I made some mistakes on the breakpoints for the sample OOBs (this was really slack and I do apologise!). Some of the unit totals are also out, but as they are just to give you an idea of the number of stands youll need, I wont correct them here.
