ABSTRACT If sky is the limit for connecting people and resources together, then cloud is a handy tool for doing that. The thought of Why should we buy a school bus for going school? is exercised here for a centralised and secured application sharing technique. The application of technology has been enabled the sharpen edges of productive sectors to became service motive by reducing the cost of production, up grading etc. now the term service is keying to the technology to transform technology more service motive. So we can simply say cloud computing as a technology that uses a remote server and internet connection to connect between applications and user in a service motive rather than owning the application but based on monthly subscription, using them in a shared manner like how we use data from a centralized data base. It also enables us to access the root files of application which are stored at a computer at any part of the world with the help of internet without requiring cloud users to know the location and other details of the computing infrastructure. INTRODUCTION Cloud computing can be defined as a utility that delivers computing as a service rather than a product. It is achieved by shared resources, software, apps for dealing our daily needs without owning the licence and installation of software. It also helps us to access the root folders of the apps without the invigilation of its vendors and other cloud users (ref fig 1). Cloud: A collection of hardware and software resources floating in the sky of internet anyone who subscribes to it can access and use it. When the concept of cloud is applied to computing then a revolutionary change will happen which is transformation of the productive sectors to a service motive one. 1

Fig-1 The service provided by cloud are categorize > Software as a Service (Saas) > Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) > Platform as a Service (Paas) > Database as a Service (Daas) > Add on Service Why cloud computing? We have big ideas to generate whatever we do with the computing to touch the roof of the world. But apps are very expensive to buy and run it for your dreams come true. For a business runner he have a complex datacentre, power unit, storage unit, software trenches, hardware units etc. and for maintaining this he would spend a lot on cooling system, warehouse and a team of experts to stock, test, figure and run them. But when a failure come we call the experts to diagnose and rectify them, what when they can do before a complex network of bouncing apps? What happen when new versions of software come? For upgrading all of the system should be changed from the beginning which brings the whole system down. In such a business environment and future then it is impossible for small business ships to cruise. And is impossible to achieve optimum utilization of resources. In a situation which all the users looking for the cracked OS, free anti-virus, trial software, 100 $ laptops, 35 $ tablet PC spending hell amount of money for buying regular apps is something impossible.

Fig-3 In such a time the application of cloud computing will be an oasis for the small entrepreneurs. HOW IT HELP BUSINESS ? The conventional system always stands for expenses. Now have a look at the new virtual world of networking the cloud computing. Cloud computing is a better way to choose and run your apps based on a virtual data centre, all you need is an internet connection and service of a remote server. You dont need to download apps, instead the app flow to you for running your needs. No downloads, no licence keys, easy upgrades, no piracy and also we can customise the apps to the purpose we need. The key features are it is free of expense and not to buy of apps and is achieved by; No need of storage and servers No need of a technical team to maintain the system. No need of regular upgrades One copy of software is exchanged for the entire cloud users. 3

All you have to do is just is log-in customising your app and starts use it.

1) Switch to cloud

2) Plug and play

3) Customize and start use

FIG-4 Organizations can simply connect to the cloud and use available resources on a paper use basis. This help the companies to avoid capital expenditure on technical substances and the greatest advantage of flexibility i.e. the user can instantly scale up or scale down the cloud usage according to business requirements. CHARACTERESTICS OF CLOUD COMPUTING Cloud computing exhibits the following characteristics: Application programming interface: The interface and environment between user and cloud will be as like usual interface. REST or Representational state transfer a technique used in the design of WWW (World Wide Web) is implemented here. So the interface between human and computer will be as usual. Device and location independence: It is the most important key feature in cloud computing, that user can use apps with the help of web browser from any location of the world independent of where or in what device they are stored. Since it is web based user can access from any part of world. Virtualization: Virtualization allows creating a virtual world which allows servers and storage devices to be shared and utilization is increased. Applications can be easily migrated from one physical server to another. Reliability: Since it has a centralized storage it is easy to keep back up and can avoid redundancy. 4

Maintenance: Maintenance of cloud computing applications is easier, because they do not need to be installed on each user's computer and can be accessed from different places. Performance: Performance is monitored and only one copy of resource is shared we can construct a specified architecture for using the apps more efficiently and effectively. Resource pooling: The providers computing resources are pooled together to serve multiple consumers using multiple-tenant model, with different physical and virtual resources dynamically assigned and reassigned according to consumer demand. The resources include among others storage, processing, memory, network bandwidth, virtual machines and email services. Rapid elasticity: Cloud services can be rapidly and elastically provisioned, in some cases automatically, to quickly scale out and rapidly released to quickly scale in. To the consumer, the capabilities available for provisioning often appear to be unlimited and can be purchased in any quantity at any time. Broad network access: Cloud Capabilities are available over the network and accessed through standard mechanisms that promote use by heterogeneous thin or thick sclient Platforms such as mobile phones, laptops and PDAs. Measured service: Cloud computing resource usage can be measured, controlled, and Reported providing transparency for both the provider and consumer of the utilized service. Cloud computing services use a metering capability which enables to control and optimize Resource use. This implies that just like air time, electricity or municipality water IT Services are charged per usage metrics pay per use. The more you utilize the higher the Bill. Just as utility companies sell power to subscribers, and telephone companies sell voice and data services, IT services such as network security management, data center Hosting or even departmental billing can now be easily delivered as a contractual service Multi tenancy: Multi tenancy provides sharing of resources and cost across a large pool users thus allowing for Centralization of infrastructure in location lower cost, increases Peak load capacity and Utilization and efficiency. Security: Security of data can be improved due to a centralization of data. But in public clouds security and privacy is questioning. DEPLOY MODELS OF CLOUD Based on the degree of freedom, scalability and security cloud computing can be catogerize into three. Public cloud: A public cloud is owned by a cloud service provider and it enjoy the highest level of sharing and degree of freedom. It also provides the highest level of efficiency and shared datacenters. Private Cloud: A private cloud works only for an organization on a private network and is highly secure. Hybrid cloud: Hybrid cloud is implemented with the positive features of private and public cloud. This model of cloud is now mostly used. COMPARISON, ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES Grid computing, Main frame computing, peer to peer computing, dedicated servers, cluster computing are few strong rivals to cloud computing Operating System service remote desktop is also a cloud rival but the problem is, it is activated only when the particular operating system is switched.

Grid computing: Grid computing is a form of distributed computing whereby resources of many computers in a network are used at the same time, to solve a single problem. Grid systems are designed for collaborative sharing of resources. It can also be thought of as distributed and large-scale cluster computing Mainframe computing: Main frames are powerful computers owned by large organization for critical application and typical database managements used during processes like census, secret data processing, code breakings etc. Peer to Peer: A communication system without any central coordination with participants being at the same time both suppliers and consumers of resources. Dedicated servers: Dedicated server is a non-shared server system dedicated to a particular
organization to achieve their goals over software and hardware needs. Here server administration can only be done by the host company. Tight security, power efficiency and privacy are key features.

Cluster Computing: It is a way of connecting computers large clusters of computers locally that work together so that in many respects they can be viewed as a single system. Number of cluster units can be connected to form complex clusters. Parallel computing: Parallel computing is a method of carrying out different tasks parallel.
In this large problems are divided into small sub problems and are solved parallel. It is one of the high performance computing. Cloud computing is using of 3rd party web services to perform computing needs. Here cloud is internet with cloud computing, companies can scale up to massive capacities in an instant without having to invest in new infrastructure. Cloud computing is benefit to small and medium-sized businesses. Basically consumers use what they need on the Internet and pay only for what they use. But while comparing the above mentioned computing techniques with cloud computing we can see they all are dedicated only achieve a particular task. Staring from the grid it is a most common implementation on medical and scientific research to collect readings observing reactions etc. But cloud it is totally different we can achieve any computing need whether it is scientific, business whatever if grid can only be considered as a self-dedicated system, cloud computing can give such a feature by customizing it. Cluster computing provides a handy processing, network speed low cost processing like cloud but it is more costly and complexity is its draw back while comparing with cloud. Peer to peer service is completely a weak rival because it can only be implemented t few numbered computer it have no centralization, reliability and lack of security. They are suitable for applications that do not require a high level of security (it is not advisable in a business network containing sensitive data. Dedicated servers is with a concept of complete privacy i.e. a dedicated server for an organisation which do everything for it and is independent of how much resource we use but we have to pay for how much time we power on the system. Usage of service is not considered here. Main Frame is one of the main computing techniques we use to control mammoth databases, control systems etc. It is also a powerful computing but it is very expensive to maintain like cluster computing and parallel systems it need separate data centres and processing units and a cooling system to keep it cool. If number of super computers together can do Main frame tasks then through implementing cloud computing we can connect super computers, application and storage together to perform Main frame computing and the problems due to Main Frame can be erased (Main Frames too). 6

We can see every computing model which we compared to cloud is a self-dedicated system. They are placed for a single purpose. They are not versatile and can only do one task at a time. But cloud computing is different, we can run different applications at different platform, it is totally an independent app running process. So choosing cloud computing will increase the overall efficiency by reduce the cost, redundancy, programme-hardware independency, multi tenancy, elasticity and avoid the burden of buying software. It can be used like a utility which bring everything to your world of computing. Synchronisation is other features which keep update your files independent of the hardware you using. Public cloud technology may be efficient and handy but for hackers and interferes it would be a paradise. It cannot ensure a complete protection to your data. In public cloud security is a big big problem. Even others can take your data without any information to you. It may be flexible in providing applications and service but you cannot switch to another cloud service provider to other quickly, lack of efficiency of cloud service provider and dependency to those companies which provide applications are few flexibility problems. You cannot implement hardware service and integration like how we use our print service at computer lab; since distance matters here, hardware integration is very limited. To be reassured of the level of security and reliability your data is getting in the cloud, examine closely the cloud service providers security policy. Moreover, organizations like The Cloud Security Alliance are collaborating with cloud experts and actively promoting best practices and standards for security assurance within cloud computing leaning more towards hybrid cloud will be a better option. The problem with availability can be overcome by choosing a better cloud service provider. Try to determine the business impact and IT advantages you want to achieve, and understand how your cloud provider can help you manage inherent security risks and configure the cloud environment according to your business context. Cyber big guns like Google and Amazon have already started purchasing their benefits from cloud computing but on the other hand traditional software makers like Oracle and SAP will suffer

Statistics of advantages while implementing Cloud computing:

1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6)

Cost Optimization of resource Centralization Scalability Agility Lower CAPEX

Cost is the key feature in cloud computing, out of 100 50 % goes with cost, second it goes to optimization with 119.7 %, thirdly it goes to centralization with 18 points, scalability too scored well with 15 %. Agility and economies of scale scores low with 14 and 11.4 percentage. Those who looking forward to cost Cloud computing is the best option under sky.

FINAL WORD In such a fast moving technical world cloud computing ensures us a selfmanaging computing technique with a reduced cost and lot of elasticity. It has its disadvantages but it can bring the entire technical world under a single unit in the name of technology as service. It offers significant promises to those who saddle with inefficient IT infrastructure. There is no doubt that after the full fletched growth of Mr Cloud people consumes IT in a different way and we can hope cloud computing will became a revolution like World Wide Web. REFERENCE
