LIVE – Is There Negativity in Heart? “Price” for Going Within
I'm grateful for what can be spotted or learned from the Internet conversations we have around the videos in YouTube. One can watch videos from vastly more sources than that, but nowhere else, it seems, is there a community grown up around this conversation. It amounts to a worldwide discussion. Do you ever find yourself wanting to say something about a video you just watched in Google, for instance – and not have any outlet for it, there? That's what YouTube has given us. Yes, I know about the current frustration, taken to new levels by the constant stream of modifications they're making to the site. It's not that the modifications are so terrible, really – I think the overall gripe is that the user community was not actively involved in it. I'm sure they took a lot from our comments and feedback, but that's the extent of our ability to be heard. YouTube is also famous for turning a very deaf ear to the user community. They have an arrogance about always being right – or so it seems. But, let's get beyond that, here. That's not what this live video journal is about. Instead, it comes from what someone said in a comment to one of my videos. By what was said, I was drawn up short and made to realize that there's more to be said about being in heart – what I mean by that. That's what brought me here to share that I don't find any negativity in heart. That doesn't mean I don't find any negativity within. We all have that. I would suggest that even those who are the illumined ones also experience it. Nisargadatta openly admitted it. It is us who
have wrong ideas around what it's like to be illumined. So often we have these ideas of unending nirvanna – of everything being forever perfect. I suggest we question such ideas. Now, while we may find even loads of negativity within, does that mean it's within our heart or our central core? That's the main question, here – to which I would say no, unequivocally. Heart is our divine core, or portal into That. While such things can be seen from heart, they are not directly experienced, there. Plus, heart adopts such a different perspective on things that such things don't become a part of that. So, to stick with the question of negativity, what is it, then, when you go to center in heart and run into something negative? What is operating there? What I've postulated in the video is that this has to do with your internal conversation with self – the talk between self and Higher Self (or just Self). My first question to you will be how good a listener are you to what you have to say, within? Do you make it a regular practice to get to know the self or Self better? For those who practice some form of self-inquiry, whether formal or not, the negativity they encounter won't be as great. It tends to be greatest on first turning inward from our outward focus on Life – which is how we've all been trained to be. Both an outward focus and a mind perspective is what we've all been programmed with. For most, that is yet to be recognized – so if you've seen it you're ahead of the game. Mind is noisy. Your internal Kingdom is quiet. There's a big difference. This negativity we encounter on going within is the remnant of mind's noise. It may be very great. Also, let us recognize that there are more components to our 3D being than just the physical ones. There is the whole realm of emotional life as well as that of the mental being. And of course, within the mental are the subconscious and unconscious as well as the conscious mind and even the superconscious. We've got a lot going on, in there. It's not all just heart. That being said, let's go back to this internal conversation going on with the self. It's not something that's linear, that happens in words – though words have their place in it. What I mean is just the sense of you being attuned to you. Most of us are surprisingly
not tuned in to the self. We read outer signals a lot better than our own internal ones. Perhaps you've noticed this in others – as it's usually easier to first notice things outside the self, as it's less threatening that way. One way or another, though, everyone's Higher Self is always communing with them – most often unheard. As more and more of us are awakening this is changing, both drastically and with some speed. Thus, many more find themselves tuning in and listening to the interior self, maybe even for the first time in the lifetime. Truly, we are programmed to be totally insensitive to this internal dialog, so don't feel in any way bad about not being previously aware of it. That's the “norm.” My work is largely for those who have taken more than a few steps along the inward path. It's not readily understandable to mind – so as usual, I suggest you focus on heart or your central core as you read or watch the video journals. You'll get much more out of them that way. Plus, it takes a certain level of stillness to view them, which is something those still firmly in mind are not yet adjusted to perceive, much less enjoy. So, for those awakening ones who are in the midst of or have already made the shift from being outward focused to turning almost completely within, this is for you. When you tell yourself to go to your center, and you encounter something negative, you may think that is what's inside of your heart. I suggest that it isn't so. Instead, I suggest that's what you found at the door to your heart as something to work through before you enter. That's one possibility. Just like rising in consciousness or frequency isn't something we can just decide to do, and then zap, do it, it's the same with entering heart. One way of looking at it is that there's a certain price that you pay for your attainment. Again, though, that's just one perspective on things that can be seen in many ways. Still, this one make sense so it will be easy to understand. The “price” of hearing the still, small internal voice is your silence. If mind is ranting and raving about this or that, then the inner voice isn't heard. It's not good or bad, right or wrong, but rather just how things are. Silence is a basic requirement – nor is it negotiable. We can't “win out” over such things by coming up
with the more brilliant argument. This isn't a territory mind is well suited for. That's another part of the price that we pay to take up residence in our Kingdom of Heart. Do you see? So, as we quiet down, by whatever methods or no methods, and practice going inward, what do we find? My suggestion is that, if you haven't yet made a real friend of you, that there's much stored-up conversation that is waiting for your attention. When we go into heart there is almost always something that is shared, Self with self, but especially when we're new to this, there are some listening skills to be developed. What it amounts to is learning the internal language. We're learning to commune with the Self, and it's pretty darn awesome. Self and Source being but one, it also applies that Self will use a feather to get our attention, and we'll hear that if we're accustomed to listening – to this inerior quiet. Most of us aren't, of course – but that doesn't stop Self/Source who just ups the ante and tries a ruler where the feather was ineffective. Does that work? Are you open to the light smack of a ruler? It all depends upon you. Where are you focused? What is important to you? Most of us don't turn to this inner pathway or walk with Source until we've quite finished up with being interested in what external life has to offer. Since so many (if not most) of us are on our last lifetime or amgodiment, then many more of us are open to the inner dialog. We're speaking that language. We are listening. So, when we turn within and what we find is just negative – what do we do with that? How do we take it? What meaning do we ascribe to it? Overall, I'd say it's much better to center in heart, first. That way we won't be looking for “meaning” in things. “Meaning,” itself, goes with explanations and can be seen to be very mind oriented. Things just are what they are, and are best left to just be that. It's a heart thing. Center down. So, you look within and find something negative. All I can share is my way of viewing things, of course – but you know that. My way of looking at Life, overall, is to see it as a great big conversation – Source with self. Everything, everywhere is just Source talking, Source sharing, Source Loving. I'd love to convert you over to this way of seeing. I can tell you it's quite lovely. You still see the
negatives, but they just don't look the same. Again, it's a heart thing – heart vision. What I find as this negative thing I take as just something Self or Source is sharing with me. My unspoken assumption is that Source/Self is only Love, and so this seemingly negative thing comes to me from this Love. I take it as some sort of gift to me. It may be that this is the very most important thing on which to focus right now, and that it will lead me into some higher understanding of something or another. Then again, it may just well suit me to deal with something someone else is bringing me, shortly – something that hasn't yet arrived. One simply can't know (and doesn't waste time or energy seeking the reasons). The thing, then, is to take the inner negativeity as some sort of gift. Can you do this? Can you shift your interior vision this way? I suggest you certainly can – so that makes it a matter of your choice in this. Will you choose to see it differently – if only as an experiment? It's up to you. Once you make this shift, get over this hump, things suddenly start to lay themselves out very differently. You begin to see how it just may be that everything in life – meaning EVERYthing – could be a blessing. This is likely a new thought or idea. Make room for it. Remember – everything and anything is possible. Your task is to be sufficiently open – not foolish, just open. Sometimes, by the way, you will look like a fool to someone else. Are you okay with that? Remember, not everyone is following your path. Not everyone is even equipped to understand you. Are you going to let that hold you back with them? This, too, is a choice – one that's somewhat harder to make. Everything has its price. Okay, so on to the possible blessing that is manifesting as this negativity – this seeming negativity. What's appropriate at this time is to watch and merely observe. Just looking solved more socalled problems than anything else. Somehow it all seems to come out in the wash of just looking and listening – there, within. So you watch. And maybe you wonder, what are the origins of this thing? Where did it come from? What lies buried beneath it? What is it covering? Just looking is called for – and to do this you must be willing to sit with the negative energy – whatever it is. You don't run away from
it. You certainly don't judge it or judge yourself for having it. None of that. You just look. Heart-centered looking always produces fruits. It may do so instantly, or it may take more time. It's always different – no rules apply to all. In just being is to be found infinite patience. In a way, though, it's not patience at all – for there is no waiting in the eternal Now. There is just this that is in this moment. And you are with this. It's like that. Okay, so much for what to “do,” or how to handle it. By staying with your focus of attention centered, inside and just observing this way, there will at some point be movement of energy. It may be that on arising, tomorrow, suddenly you find everything has changed with that particular thing you were just being with. When you go within to look again for it, there may be simply nothing where it was, before. What I have noticed thus far on this heart path or way of being is that, as long as I am willing to be in my Now and be with whatever arises I am often if not always in heart. Being in heart doesn't mean being in bliss, necessarily – though sometimes it will. More often there's just a certain warmth or “nice feeling” that goes with it. This is so tricky to put into words, and no words I can write down will help mind to get it. So best leave mind completely out of it as much as you can. Just keep putting your attention centered in your chest area, or what I call “in heart” for lack of a perfect phrase. Be stubborn about this. See what you get for it. Know that, if you encounter any negativity, it's a part of your conversation with your own Higher or Inner Self, and tend to it. Just don't equate it with being in heart. There's a divine sort of Peace that's rather mindless, and a certain quality of quiet Joy that you'll begin to perceive in your experience. These are qualities of being in heart. This stuff can't really be spoken – I'm just doing the best I can, here. As you move, more and more, to trust heart over head, you'll be moving in just the right direction – though of course there are no directions to the inner world. What can I say? Sending you Love, Joy, and Bliss – just be within to capture them. They are there for you, quite without any sending at all ;)
