Congratulations Everyone!

We have been announced as the winners of the Coffs Harbour Blood Service Gyms Challenge. 459 lives were saved as a direct result of everyone participating & rolling up their sleeves for the challenge. Jacqui was interview by the Independent newspaper & said it was wonderful to see that so many of the gyms members were community-minded and happy to give an hour of their time to help others. "We are thrilled to be the Coffs Coast Gyms Challenge winners and hope that all of our staff and members who donated during the challenge will become regular blood donors and continue to save lives," Ms Jarratt said. Carrie Skinner, community relations officer for the Blood Service said that the Gyms Challenge highlighted how easy it is for organisations to support by donating blood. "Cancer patients, people with heart and kidney disease, as well as many pregnant women and newborn babies are all relying on blood donors to roll up their sleeves every day of the year." Group Exercise Update!


Body Pump is one of the most popular group exercise classes worldwide. We have 8 to choose from on our timetable & if you have been contemplating joining in, here are a few tips: 1. Everyone can work at their own level at Body Pump. 2. Make sure you start by learning the techniques. Make sure you introduce yourself to one of our friendly instructors prior to class. They will take you through the correct techniques, show you how to change weights, that sort of thing. 3. Position yourself where you can see the instructor easily at your first few classes. 4. Don't worry about using light weights at first. It may take you a few classes to work out what is right for you. . 5. Afterwards. Yes, you will be sore the day after and probably a couple of days after that. 6. Expect to progress (by increasing your weights) about every 4-6 weeks at first easier. Farewell Keaton & Emma. Welcome Amy!


March will unfortunately see us biding farewell to two of our much loved personal trainers. Emma became an integral part of our club in 2011 but is now moving north to the bright lights of Brisvegas. Keaton has been one of the pillars that we have been able to build such a wonderful club around & is one of our original foundation team members. He has been here for years & knows practically everyone that comes through our door. He is heading off to fulfill a lifelong ambition of joining the air force & protecting our country. Emma has just finished up with us this week & Keaton will be leaving midway through March. Keaton will still be around town (& training in the gym) until the start of May but is having a well deserved break before he takes up his air force post. We all thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their contributions.

March also sees the start of an exciting new era with Amy Coy joining the personal training team. Amy is a sports scientist & will be available for personal training sessions as of next week. Great smile, great personality & super smart! Book in with her soon...
