VETERAN’S DAY AT THE COLISIUM
Three members of the Pinellas Senior Squadron attended the annual Veteran’s dance on November 3, 2010. A patriotic crowd of over 100 participants included Major Jack Wholley, 2Lt Wynelle Deese and SM Derline King. Major Wholley was the originator of this event 5 years ago where he has been an ardent member of the Colisium dances as Dance Host and has done several exhibitions with several dance
partners. WELCOME FOUR NEW MEMBERS
Joe Atran joined CAP to help with helping out with flying. He wants to achieve being a pilot and has traveled extensively seeing the county. He achieved a 2nd year in college and has three grown children, 37, 48, and 50. He was born in San Antonio, Texas and grew up in Texas and Rochester, NY. Stephen Hills joined CAP for the Cadet Program, ES, and aviation. He is looking to get back into flying and work on advanced ratings. He was born in New Hampshire and was home schooled. He achieved an Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is currently a USCG Officer in the Engineering Department and enjoys hiking, ham radio, sailing and off shore regattas. He enjoys traveling with the USCG. Edmund C. Bradley (Ted) joined CAP for community service and to help CAP in their missions. He was born in Prov. R.I. and is married with three grown children. He has a College Degree, is retired and enjoys flying and sailing. He has a legion of merits in the US Army and has traveled extensively during his 20 years in the military service. Darryl Smith joined CAP to give back to the country all it has done for him. He wants to become an integral member of CAP and hopes the organization will give him opportunities to excel. He was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Woodbridge, V. and Palmetto, FL. He experienced flying as a child and is married with one child. He has a Masters Degree in political Science and is a Staff Officer at Mac Dill AFB. He has achieved several AF awards and has other interests in boating & running.
A total of 30 members and visitors attended the Pinellas Senior Squadron Christmas Party. Others present included 1Lt Giancarlo Frittita, Lt.C Darryl Smith, 2Lt Mike Lombardo, Maj. Jack Wholley with guest , Maj. Joyce Nader, Capt. Adrian Cuarta, LtC Larry Fernald, Terri Griner, 2Lt Brad Berry, Capt. Dan Antrim, 1Lt. Wynelle Deese, LtC Larry Tellier, Jack Tunstill, Maj Walt Pleasants and 2Lt Elliot Smith. The following promotions were given at this festive occasion. Dan Antrim and Bob Smith were promoted to Captain, LtC Larry Tellier was recognized for 31 years in CAP and Major Jack Wholley was given a 25 year pin. Major Walter Pleasants was given a 10 year pin. 1Lt Giancarlo Frittita and Commander Smith have completed the Yeager Award. 2Lt Elliott Smith and Capt. Dan Antrim were recognized for their contributions as Safety Officer and Finance Officer respectively. LtC Larry McConnell was recognized as Flight Instructor. LtC Ken McMahon was recognized for support to CAP.
