Internship Opportunity Type: Unpaid Duration: minimum 1 semester, but student may request a longer internship Time commitment: 12-‐20 hrs per week based on student’s schedule Supervisor: Thomas Waters, Director of New Media, Pitt School of Pharmacy Project: Create CSS to control wiki and blog pages to align these web tools with the school’s overall brand and appearance. As the web has evolved, companies use a variety of tools to provide information including wikis, blogs and traditional websites. These media, to be as successful as possible must utilize a consistent look and feel, accomplished mainly through the use of CSS style sheets. In this internship, the selected applicant with meet with key individuals in the school. They will then, design and execute CSS that will be used on various wiki, blog and the website. Successful completion will be based on two or more finished and approved This will include working with Mac OS X built-‐in wiki and blog server as well as Word Press sites. infographics The applicant may work on other projects as their time allows. The selected applicant will gain real-‐world work samples that can be used to enhance their portfolo, which an aid them in their future job searches. CSS expertise can be difficult to display in a portfolio, however, this project will provide “before” and “after” images that will illustrate that expertise well. About the School of Pharmacy environment: The selected applicant will work in a shared office space on a iMac computer, and have access to Adobe Creative Suite CS5 applications, as well as other tools they may need.
